One of the wires from the receiver (you will have to look in the manual to find the correct one) must be connected to a constant 12v power supply. the one you have that wire connected to currently is prob. connected to a power supply that gets turned off when you turn off your car.

The radio will not keep it's time and the nav won't keep memory of what state your in

As for the radio it is a power Wire that Is a constant power. This keeps the time current . If this wire is not hooked up to constant power the radio will not save the time once the car is shut off. I would also assume that the channels you try to set it to are all reset also. As this is the Power wire for memory. Not sure your brand of radio But usually all wires are marked. If not you should be able to find the Model number and look up a diagram of the wiring online.

Radio Does not work.Door locks only work when ignition is on

i had a similar problem on my ford probe. i found that the fixed live to the radio had split. it left me with only switched power from the ignition. over time it shorted out and i lost radio, central locking and dash lights. i replaced the fuse in the back of radio and had to have the wiring checked! oddly when it was checked over no other faults were found apart from the split live.i replaced the live feed, reconnected the battery and everything was fine. Dont know if this helps but u never know. Good Luck

What to hook the dimmer wire & illumination wire to

Those lower end Sony models dont use a dimmer or illumination. The display is constantly one brightness level.
Simply terminate or tape off those wires from the plug.

Either you blew the memory fuse or didn't connect the radio to the proper wire. Check fuses inside and under the hood.

The memory wire to the radio needs 12v all the time. If it's not connected or no power at the lead the radio will reset every time you turn off the car.
