Look at the back of the opener, the LED light blinks. Count how many blinks, then go to the troubleshooting guide to find the fault.

Opens, won't close. Reset and the problem persists. Batteries in remotes recently replaced,

as a safety, when the photocell sensor system is not aligned, is blocked or the wires are shorted or not connected, the opener will not close the door. if you go to the wall mounted button and hold it down, the door should close as long as you hold down the button. that will tell you that the sensor system is the issue. good luck

Wall mount button LED is flashing, remotes won't work, door won't close unless the wall mount button is held down until the door is fully closed

Sounds like you have a couple problems. First of all press and hold the button on the wall control that has a lock icon for 3 seconds and release. This should take care of the flashing LED and the remotes will now work. Having to hold the button on the wall control until the door is closed is usually a problem with the door sensors. Make sure they are pointed at one another and the small light on each is lit and not flickering.

Liftmaster garage door will not close from the remote in the car

Hello, friend, W/D here.

I saw your post; I haven't seen the one you referred to. I have had similar issues to your's and here's what I did:
Having to hold the button down the entire time indicates that either your photoelectric eyes are out of alignment, or one of them has broken. If broken, the light on it will be out. Sometimes you can tighten the wire to repair, and tapping on it a bit won't hurt it. Adjusting the alignment is a bit of trial and error, but a string line helps to get them close. You can again judge by the light on the cells.
Not close from the car......started out good, got weaker... Same for me....new battery fixed it. I think I had to reprogram the remote, and the instructions were on the back of the lift motor in the garage....

Liftmaster 971LM opens but won't close correctly

Check the wiring going to the sensors to make sure it is not broken or disconnected. You have a problem with the sensors themselves or the logic board. Unfortunately the only way to be sure is to replace.

When try to use remotes or wall control to close garage door, lights blink 8 times. Can only close by holding down wall control the entire way.

Your door sensors are most likely misaligned. Each of them should have a small light that is lit and not blinking. Tweak them until both are lit.

Pressing remotes the door won't go u[

It sounds like you have the lock enguaged. When it is flashing it locks out all remote access. Hold the lock button for 3 seconds. The green light should go solid. On the issue of closing, it is most likely a safety eye issue. Hold down the wall button. If it closes it is the safety eyes. Holding the button overrides the safety eyes. Make sure that thelight on both eyes are both lit.
