Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console

1 Answer

I have a Sanyo HD TV and my Playstation 2 has the red white and yellow jacks but when I plug them in I get no color. If I move them to the bottom red jack and the top green and blue jacks it works but only in black and white with poor picture.

The red and the white cables are the left and right sound

the yellow one is the only one sending a picture signal

plug it into the video in...which should be yellow on that tv, the green and blue jacks are for another type of video connection

SOURCE: Having the same problem but your solution does not work.

did you verify if your tv is set to work with PAL or NTSC?
if your PS System is European, you must set your tv on PAL
if it's American, you must set your tv on NTSC

and it will not work if you try to plug the cables in component video as you did.

HOW DO I CONNECT TO TV

There are many methods to do this.
If your cable are ONLY RED,WHITE,YELLOW
1 Plug the red white and yellow cables to there corrosponding jacks on your DVD player
2 Plug the red white and yellow cables to jacks labled video IN, Audio IN. They will be colored on the back of your Tv
3 Plug in the power cable.
4 Turn it on and flip through the inputs on your tv until you see the picture
IF your cables are RED, GREEN, BLUE, RED, AND WHITE
1 Your are using what is called conponent video. This is a high definition video.
2 Three of your plugs are for video. They are Red(Cr) Green(Y) and Blue(Cb)
3 Plug the GREEN into the Y jack
4 Plug the RED into the Cr jack
5 Plug the BLUE into the Cb jack
6 Plug your power cable int o the wall if you havent alredy done so
7 Plug the other red cable into the audio right jack
8 Plug the white cable into the audio left jack
9 Turn it on and surf through the input until you find it
If you have a BLACK, RED and WHITE
Do the same as RED WHITE and YELLOW but
1 Put the black cable into the s-video slot
2 Surf through the inputs until you find the picture
If you have ONE BLACK CABLE
1 This is called HDMI(High-definition multimedia interface)
2 Plug one end into the tv and the other inte you dvd

Thank you for your time, Good luck and I hope this works

No sound on tv and black & white

The red, blue, and green are the component cable hookups. What you have w/ red, white, and yellow is called composite or on most TV's (AV) See if the TV has a side port for like a camcorder, etc. It will not work by hooking into the red/blue/green as they are different signals.

It is possible that your yellow jack may be separate from the red/white audio left/right jacks.

How do i connect the playstation 3 to tv, it was connected to hd tv then we have tryed to connect to normal tv and nothing. please help

You have to connect the wire that has 3 separate wires at the end into your television according to the color. Plug the red wire into the red slot, yellow in the yellow and white in the white. You will then have to take the other end of the wire and plug it into the back of your playstation. Also, make sure to plug your playstation into the electrical outlet.

I need to know where to plug in my connectors for my cable box. I have two red ones and one blue one I can't find the right holes to plug them in. I have a green one and white one fixed so I have a black...

Hi,
This would be 5 pins, red-white is for audio and rest of 3 pins red-green-blue for video signal, it calls component video.
Find out red-green-blue jacks at back of TV that would be label as Y, Yr, Yb
Plug each pin in same color to get color picture.

How do i hook up the rca jacks of my playstation 7501 to the tv?

You generally just plug the yellow rca into the yellow female rca socket, and the red and white into their respective colors... change to tv to AV1 or whichever it was plugged into.

Cannot get DVD's to play on our TV.

It depends on what kind of inputs your TV has; here are a few of the most common, all of which your DVD player supports (best quality first):

1) COMPONENT VIDEO (Red, Green, Blue)
If your TV has three inputs for video colored red, green, and blue, this is your best bet for quality video from your DVD player. You may need to buy a component video cable from the store (somewhat pricey, but great quality) which consists of three cables (again, red, green, and blue) stuck together. Just plug the red/green/blue cables into their correspondingly-colored ports on both the DVD player and the TV.
That covers your video. To set up audio, you just need some regular red/white RCA cables. On the DVD player, plug the red/white cables into the correspondingly-colored audio out jacks NEAREST to the red/green/blue cable you used earlier for video, then plug the other end into the audio in red/white jacks on the TV.

2) COMPOSITE VIDEO (Yellow)
If your TV has a yellow input for video, just use a regular yellow RCA cable. Plug it into the yellow video-out jack on the DVD player, then plug the other end into the yellow video-in jack on the TV.
To set up audio, you just need some regular red/white RCA cables. On the DVD player, plug the red/white cables into the correspondingly-colored audio out jacks NEAREST to the yellow cable you used earlier for video, then plug the other end into the audio in red/white jacks on the TV.

3) COAXIAL JACK (Antenna port)
If your TV only has a coaxial jack that you currently plug your antenna or cable line into, you'll need to buy an RF modulater and a short length of coaxial cable (you can find these anwhere: Walmart, Radio Shack, etc).
Plug the RF modulater into an electrical outlet, then plug your antenna/cable line into the "antenna in" jack on the RF modulater. Take the coaxial cable that you just bought and plug it into the "antenna out" jack on the RF modulater, then plug the other end into the antenna/cable jack on the TV. The RF modulater should have a switch on it somewhere that sets either the number 3 or 4; depending on which number you pick, that's the channel that your TV has to be switched to to view the DVD player.
Now you're all set to connect to your DVD player. Just follow the instructions in section (2), only now you're going to plug your cables in the RF modulater instead of the TV.
(I hope this wasn't too confusing; it really is a lot simpler in practice than it is in explanation...)

It depends if you are using RCA jacks or coax . now RCA is the best way to go . its the wires that plug in to the back of the TV colored red ,yellow and white (yellow is video) (red and white is right and left audio). Now to get to the Question at hand. Either channel down on the rc600d. to the channels below 02 should find
(av )channel if not then look on the rc600d for the tv/video button and try this. make sure the ps2 is on. a blue light on the front of it will mean it is operating .
