Question about Kenmore 64802 Top Freezer Refrigerator
I had just posted most of this in another response. It should help you. Remove the grille from the front of the unit beneath the doors and look at the condenser coils. Most people have no clue whatsoever that those must be cleaned periodically. If the airflow is choked off by excessive dirt, the system will overheat, and the performance suffers accordingly. Let it go too long and it's compressor time. Clean with what you have available, one of those polyester featherdusters along with a good vacuum cleaner with crevice attachment along with a dust mask for yourself is highly recommended You may also want to pull the unit away from the wall so to clean from the back as well. There should be a removable panel. While you're in there, make sure the condenser cooling fan is unobstructed and turns freely.
