Sounds like compressor failure, overheat or some other reason can't get started. Make sure everything is clear and unplug and let it set for a while and try again. If that don't help take it to shop.

Gas heat does not always come on when it is switched on, when it does it works fine when it does not, the house is filled with a bad smell, I'm assuming unused gas. we have had the burners scrubbed with a wire brush before and no problems for 2 years. Can the burners just be replaced? Pilot light works fine. The furnace tries to come on, i can hear it clicking to ignite. Thanks Ronnie from Atlanta

I have an Amana Gas Fired Furnace Model CCA24FCC. It recently started blowing cold air out of the vent registers in the house and would then shut off after a call for heat at the thermostat with the setting on Auto. In the ON setting the circulator fan just blows ambient temp air. Upon further investigation I found I have a blinking LED. It blinks three times. The manual says- pressure switch circuit not closed. That is the case because the induced draft blower is not spinning. When a call for heat occurs this fan should spin. The pressure switch is functioning- with the furnace off or not operational the switch has no continuity across its terminals. When I pull a slight vacuum on the switch, I can hear it move and then my ohmeter has continuity across it. The problem is the draft motor wont run. When the furnace is switched on or a call for heat occurs, I do not have any voltage at the induced draft blower motor terminals nor do I have voltage at the control unit terminals. Am I on the right track to replacing the control unit? By the way, I had skipped replacing my filters for a few months and they were really dirty when I replaced them today while diagnosing the furnace.

I have an SPT WA-1220E Portable A/C unit that is leaking when running. It will auto shut off when it detects it is full, but Im wondering if it is filling before it shuts off...? It has a rubber plugged release tube where I drain the water, it drains fine and is definitely not plugged up. I also tip it backwards to get every bit of water that will come out of the drain. I then replug the drain tube. I turn it on, it runs perfectly, cools the room, then an hour or two (sometimes more...) goes by and when I check the area the right side (when facing back of unit) is starting to leak water from the bottom of the unit. Near as I can tell it seems to be coming down from the back right wheel area. Im tired of towel drying and using a hair dryer to dry the carpet. This thing runs fine, it cools the bedroom well. I purchased it used and have no manual and know nothing about A/C units. But, Im on the verge of taking the outside covers off, to see if it has a loose hose or a bad water detection sensor, if there is such a thing...? Would appreciate any assistance !
