Mondeo central locking

Check the obvious things first. Check the fuses for the central locking and the battery in the key fob. If these are OK it could be the drivers side door lock servo that might be faulty.

It could be dirty terminals in the key fob, also make sure the battery is the correct way round, positive facing up, hope this helps.

Hi , this sounds like the fuse has blown for the central locking due to a hi amp draw from a fault lock , depending on the country that you are in you will need to find the fuse for the central locking , for european cars the fuse will be #57 or #72 it will be a 15amp fuse that will nead to be changed to a yellow 20 amp fuse , once the blown fuse is replaced , insert the romote key in its slot and turn the ignition on , then remove the key , open and close the drivers door and the central locking should then work , if this fault re-occures then 1 or more door lock will nead to be replaced, hope this is of some help , regards mark.

Turns out the problem was a broken wire at a junction below the carpet below the drivers seat. Took my mechanic 4.5 hours to fix it nightmare had to take seat out handbrake lever etc to get to it!!

sounds like control module for central locking and or security system mal function

actuators working on all four

locking module could be out of sequence after the one door repaired

drop the vw back into the place where the door lock was replaced
get them to explain

try looking in the door and see if the bar to central door lock mechanism hasnt come off where the little plastic clip has broke that retains it

Can you operate the central locking once inside the car? Does your interior light come on when you open the drivers side door? If those are both the case, then you may have a bad door microswitch. If your car can't detect your drivers side door being closed, the central locking will not operate from the keyfob. If the microswitch is bad, you may need to take it to a garage to have it serviced as the procedure is complicated. See this website for details:

with any BMW they have their problems, one is the central locking/immobilizer, the central locking is linked into the immobilizer and vice versa, the immobilizer takes it signal to disarm from the central locking and the ignition key ring. (chip in the key) if one of these starts to play up it has loads of consequences this being one of them. they all need to work together for the system to work properly. you would need to read the alarm and immobiliser codes using an ob2 tool that can detect them, and find the fault some problems it can be the drivers door sensor in the lock this is the main door as its drivers side and it controls all other doors on the central locking. if the switch is worn in any of it movements the system will not know the door has been opened, this does not work on the interior light as that is a switch in the door frame. the door lock is lock unlock and deadlock with key with remote fob its also arm disarm alarm and immobiliser. i have seen in some models there is a sensor auto lock so when you walk away with the key the doors lock automatically all lease parts work together. any one having a problem can cause no signal to be sent to the others in the system to start engine .
