SOURCE: My System Windows Xp Cannot read Usb thumb drive

If you insert it on a USB located on motherboard there usually should not be problems, only if you forget to enable in BIOS, USB 2.0 or USB legacy support. If you have a card reader installed, please verify the pin connection required. You can find it in your motherboard manul. USB Legacy is generally required if you want to boot from some USB device and not all motherboards require that to be enabled to recognize and boot from USB devices.

Bye.

Why won't Xbox update?

To resolve this problem, try the following solutions.
Solution 1: Check your Xbox Live connection
If you're having problems connecting or staying connected to Xbox Live, see I get an error message when I test my Xbox Live connection.
If you still experience the problem, try the next solution.
Solution 2: Clear the system cache
Removing the temporary files on your console might solve the problem. Follow the instructions at How to clear your Xbox 360 system cache. Then, try downloading the update again.
If you still experience the problem, try the next solution.
Solution 3: Copy the update to a USB flash drive, CD or DVD
Copy the console update from your computer to a USB flash drive, CD or DVD, and then install the update on your console. Here's how:
Copy to a USB flash drive
Note The USB flash drive must use the FAT32 file system.
  1. Plug your USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer.
  2. Download the update file.
  3. Click Save to save the console update .zip file to your computer.
  4. Unzip the file:
  • If you are using Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7, double-click the .zip file to unzip it.
  • If you are using an earlier version of Windows, you need to use a special software program to unzip the file (for example, WinZip).
  1. Copy the contents of the .zip file to the root directory of your USB flash drive.
  2. Unplug the USB flash drive from your computer.
  3. Plug the USB flash drive into a USB port on your Xbox 360 console.
  4. Restart the console.
  5. When the console restarts, the installation program starts automatically. Select Yes when you are prompted to update the new console software.
Burn to CD or DVD
You can also download the update to your computer, burn the update to a CD or DVD, and then install the update on your console. Here's how:
  1. On your computer, download the update file.
  2. Click Save to save the console update .zip file to your computer.
  3. Unzip the file:
  • If you are using Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7, double-click the .zip file to unzip it.
  • If you are using an earlier version of Windows, you need to use a special software program to unzip the file (for example, WinZip).
  1. Insert a blank, writeable CD or DVD into your computer.
  2. Copy the contents of the .zip file to the root directory on your CD or DVD, and choose to write (burn) the files to the disc.
  3. Once the files have been burned to disc, remove that disc from your computer and insert it into the disc drive on your Xbox 360 console.
  4. Restart the console.
  5. When the console restarts, the installation program starts automatically. Select Yes when you are prompted to update the new console software.

Remove Write protection from DVD disc

1. Insert the DVD disc into the computer's DVD-ROM burner drive. Click on "Burn files to disc" from the window that automatically pops up.

2. Type a name for the DVD disc in the "Burn a Disc" box. Click "Show formatting options" and choose a formatting option.

3. Choose "Live File System" to allow files to be copied immediately to the DVD disc, much like sending data to a USB flash drive or floppy disk. Live File System discs can only be read by Windows XP or later versions. Choose "Mastered" to have files be copied to the DVD all at once. This is the standard burning method; discs can be played back on any DVD-ROM drive.

4. Click "Next" to prepare the disc. Files can now be copied to the disc using the selected method.

I have my pics in memory card & its nt copying to my computer . its error coming in it parameter incorrect then hw i can copy my images & i dont want loose those images???????

C:\Users\Bob\Downloads> copy Update.iso F:\
will take you here
Why is the second file copy failing?
The hint is the file extension: *.iso, which suggests that this is a CD or DVD image, and DVD images have the feature that they tend to be really big.
Like more than 4GB big.
USB thumb drives tend to be formatted with the FAT32 file system rather than with NTFS. And FAT32 has a maximum file size of 4GB minus one byte.
The user confirmed that the Update.iso file was larger than 4GB and that the USB thumb drive was formatted as FAT32.
Mind you, the error message doesn't help at all in identifying that this is what's going on. I don't know where it's coming from, but my guess is that somewhere inside the copy command, it tries to create the destination file and set its file size. Since the file size is out of range for FAT32, the call fails with the error ERROR_INVALID_PARAMETER, and that's what ends up bubbling out to the user.
But at least now you know what the confusing error message is trying to tell you.

hope this helps

Xc000035a error ocurred when installing windows 7 in hp 530 laptap

suggest using a different DVD drive, or maybe copying the installation files to a USB stick (4gb or bigger) and performing a USB install. The error 0x80070017 translates to "CRC Error" which means that the files that are being copied from the disk are not making it to the hard drive with the same structure, meaning that the "original" files on the disk are being modified/changed/corrupted while being copied to the "destination" location on your hard drive during the install.
This usually means either a bad DVD, or a read error on the DVD drive.
The easiest thing is to make a USB drive to install Window s7 (and it's WAY faster than DVD too!)
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/dd535816.aspx

Also, run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, it will scan your system and provide a report telling you if your PC can run Windows 7 and if there are any known compatibility issues with your programs or hardware.

Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=1b544e90-7659-4bd9-9e51-2497c146af15&displayLang=en

If this is a digital download of Windows 7, try burning again at the lowest speed possible or download another copy of the software and try downloading again.

I hope this helps.

When i install turbo c in windows 7 OS the problem is the source path name that i don't understand what is it . so plz describe the source path name is what .

Hi, the source path refers to the location of the file or files that you want to copy. So if you are copying a file from C:\Windows to C:\Microsoft, the source path would be C:\Windows and the destination path would be C:\Microsoft.

If you're installing the program from a CD or DVD, the source path would be the CD/DVD drive, which is generally D: or E:. If you're installing from a floppy disk, the source path is probably A:.

Reformat hard drive

How to format your hard drive and re install your operating system.
in order for you to do this you have to (before you format)
1. make sure that you have your recovery cd's or a cd/DVD with your operating system (windows or Mac)
2. try to back up all your information to an external Hard drive or DVD's depends on how much usable information you may have.
3. try to handpic your files to back up because if you do an auto back up you will end up with the same problem again.
-- to do a back up copy all your needed files to an empty folder and then burn them to DVD's or copy to an ext. HD.
4. after you do that (if you have your recovery cd's) insert #1 and restart your computer it will tell you to press any key to start from cd do that and follow directions.
5. when the program shows your partitions go ahead and delete them all, you need to end up with one
6. when you see just one partition go ahead and click continue and it will install your new operating system
7. if you have more than 1 cd it will ask you to insert the next one and so on.
8 after it finishes installing, get the cd out and run the setup process like if you've got a brand new computer, type the information and keep clicking next.
9. at one point you would be on the windows screen and that is it you have a brand new operating system.
Note: take in consideration that when you follow this process, you
erase EVERYTHING from the system including files and programs so after you do this you are going to have to re-install all your programs and copy your docs. back to the pc.
**** If you don't have the discs
check under start-(all) programs - start up- recovery- disk creation.
that (if you have it) will help you to create your recovery disks try to use 2 dvd's if posible if not you may have to get a windows cd to re- install and install drivers and apps.

if it works for you don't forget to rate me

Windows 7 Issues - want to uninstall

Depending on the version of Win 7 you have, you may have the option of running a copy of Windows XP in "virtual mode" that may allow you to use your older legacy software. You will need need Windows 7 Professional or Windows 7 Ultimate to do this. Lesser versions do not offer this feature.

If you don't want to buy the pro version or just don't have it, you can also copy your personal files to a thumb drive or CD/DVD, uninstall Win 7, re-install whatever operating system you were using and then copy the files back. You should make more than one backup copy of your personal files. Thumb drives are cheap these days and work well for this task.
