Check if the sound card of your system is working or not, if its working then check if the audio is muted, check if your speaker is powered or not. then power it if its not powered. you can also check if the speaker cable is connected in the right port or slot. if you do all that and it did work write me back. we will find solution to it.

UBX Home Theater System

It sounds like a problem with your centre channel or speaker. The sound of Voices and on-screen, actions in the middle of the screen are played through the centre speaker. General sounds such as music in the background, off-screen events, etc. will be played through other speakers on a home theatre system. Check your connectors coming from your DVD player to your sound system. Are you using a single-cabled digital connector or one for every channel? Check your sound settings as well, i.e., Surround, AC3, Music, etc.

Some of my speakers arn't playing sound on my HT-E555OW

If you are trying to play a cd, you must manually tell the unit to play it in surround sound. Cd audio defaults to stereo only. Does it do the same thing if you are playing a dvd? If it happens on dvd's as well, then something in the speaker setup menu is wrong.

The clicking is the sound of the laser head being moved across the disk. Since the head is moved and the disk is turning then the laser head has developed a fault in the control of the lens . This is unfixable, the entire optical unit will have to be replaced. Luckily it's a standard PC IDE unit, that can be bought for less than $30 at all pc shops. The only complicated stuff is the replacement operation itself: you will have to dismantle the tv to do it.

No surround sound with Prima HT-TW57P DVD System

I realize this may sound silly but it could be the disc your are playing. Some DVDs are not mixed for surround sound and thoes that are produce very little sound from the rears.

Rear speakers were meant for effect, not meant to distract you from the picture.

Give this a try, get a movie playing that is 5.1 surround sound. Check that the home theatre is not set to stereo mode, if it is change the surround mode on the unit. Now that you are in the middle of an action scene disconnect the front speakers and see if there is background noise comming out of the rears.

If its still dead let me know more details about the system and I will work on a solution.

Cheers,

5.1 speakers dont work right on sound blaster card

Most music does not put out sound from the rear speakers. Test it with a DVD, most of them use the rear speakers for some sound effects.

Altec Lansing VS 4121

It is unlikely that this is a problem with your speakers more likely that it is a problem with the DVD player itself. I would recomend trying another DVD player.
