How do I remove the keys on a Logitech MK700 keyboard to clean properly?

I spilled coke on MK700 keyboard. Now several keys stick. I need to remove some keys to clean them well. How do I remove the keys without damaging them? How to reinstall them after I'm finished cleaning? Thank you.

Try using simple flat-head screw driver. It should remove easily, but i don't think that'll solve your problem. You should pry apart your keyboard with screws and use damp cloth to clean the board, as well as rubber buttons. I'm not so certain about that, but you should try it. Dusan

SOURCE: logitech cordless keyboard erratic after cleaning keys

seems to be that you may have accidentally swept some dirt underneath the keys.
try pressing each key individually in word and narrow down the affected key or keys, then remove the affected keys (using a keyboard key removal tool, or very carefully by hand) and clean underneath the key with a small dry clean brush both under the key and the board section it lay in, then replace the key and type the key again, if that has no luck then try the process again.

hope this helps

After changing the batteries and cleaning the corrosion out of the battery case, I pressed the connect button on the Logitech receiver, then the red restart button on the underside of the keyboard and it was fixed!

SOURCE: replace key on logitech illuminated keyboard

Since this happened to me accidently a few times and I saw this thread, I thought my 25 cents could help others. I like the keyboard and it is troublesome to send it back for repair for a little thing like this. In my case, I was left with the square black key top and a pair of white hinges detached. You should replace the hinges properly in the base board first and after that press the key top gently and uniformly until you hear a couple of clicks. Make sure you are not irritated when you start this job and do not apply extreme force. It needs a little patience and fiddling. Unless you are lucky or an expert, it takes a number of times until you get it.

The two hinges need to be inserted in the metal clips of the base only after they are put together, not individually. Each hinge has two little rods on the narrow side and two little rods on the wider side. The wider side rods face up and will attach to the key top later. By now, you should be sure which rods of the hinges are up, towards you. Next, the hinges have to be attached to each other in the middle, like a foldable beach stool. You observe that one of them has a middle pin on each side, whereas the other has a corresponding cavity in the middle.

At the time you attach the hinges to each other in the middle, it has to be in such a way that the top part of each of them is smooth, that is, the part that will contact the key top. The side of the hinge that contacts the base has a little tongue between the two narrow rods. This tongue should face down in both hinges. You are now ready to place the little beach stool in the keyboard base.

In my case I inserted the hinge with the open part into the right metal clip and next inserted the rectangular opening to the left metal clip of the base. Whichever you do first is easy, but the second one might need a little help with a tiny screwdriver, or a tool with a similar effect. You might need a few attempts.

Now, your little hinges are attached to the board base and are not flat. They actually look like the legs of an open beach stool. Note which side of the key top is correct, it is annoying to go back to the beginning because you put the character upside down. It is time to press the key top gently and uniformly until you hear a couple of clicks. Unless there was serious damage to the board base or the parts we just mentioned, the key should work as smooth as the other keys.

Coke spilled in the keyboard of my laptop and the keys are sticking together now. How do I get the coke out and make my keys stop sticking??

Accidents like this happen, not to worry too much about it.

Method 1: use a damp cloth, (ensure it is not dripping) and clean it multiple times.
Method 2: if you can remove the keyboard (refer to the manual / website support.hp.com for the procedure) and use a damp cloth to clean it and use a vacum cleaner to dry it.

Seveal keys stick

On mine I have a couple of keys that stick To unstick them turn thekeyboard upside down and then knock on it just like you are knocking on a door. That pops the leys loose. do not try to pry them loose.

Past that you need to take the leyboard apart and clean. If you have spilled something you have to clean or replace.

Logitech MK700 wireless keyboard - key sticking down

Start with a can of compressed air and blow the keyboard out. If this is unsuccessful, unscrew the back and try to blow it that way. Worst case scenario is that wet sugars (soda) may have gotten into the keyboard and you have to buy a new one. Try getting a keyboard cover for additional protection.

Spilled coke on my keyboard, how do we clean it

Hi

Thank you for your query

Best thing would be to get a damp cloth and simply wipe over the keyboard when the laptop is switched off, this will remove the stickyness.

Please ensure when wiping that no water travels into the keyboard which may cause you problems

Keyboard keys stick after coke spill

Use rubbing alcohol on a Q-tip and rub it in between the keys. It better if you can remove the keys (I usually use a small butter knife to pop them off) that way you could run the under hot water to clean them. If you do that, be very careful if you have to remove the Spacebar, sometimes those can be a pain to get back on and make sure the keys are dry before replacing them on the keyboard. Hope that helps.

I use my computer for gaming and when i move around with the arrows they stick sometimes in one of the directions un til i tap that key again, is this common for the classic keyboard 200?

Logitech keyboards are excellent both in quality and longevity.
Make sure some sugary drink has not been spilled on the keyboard.
This will make the keys stick and repeat. I have had good luck with Dawn and warm soapy water. Just make sure the keyboard is completely dry before putting back into service. 1-2 weeks drying time. (IF you dunk and submerge. Only the most severe)
Never EVER dunk a laptop in water to clean the keyboard.
I know I know... but someone will try it. :)

Check to make sure the windows sticky keys are turned off.
Sounds like dirt or a soft drink is causing this repeating pattern you described.

Good luck!
