Question about SMC SHDSL 6PORT ETHERNET EXT/DSLAM (SUD20116T) Bridge
I would take a look at the number of ports, the maximum number of ports. This is defined in the modem's settings. For instance, the very popular Linksys WRT54G with dd-wrt will very often crash if you set max ports too high as it runs out of memory. The range is probably 0-4096, I never go above 1024 on a router like that anymore. See the problem is that the router may keep connections open and reach 1024 or not even be able to handle getting all the way to 1024. In that case, a reset is the only fix. Definitely check that, it seems simple but it comes into play.
One other thing do check is with the DSL provider. Perhaps there is an issue with your line or loop. But, probably not the problem.
Let me know and good luck!
