Check and re check the grounds. You need a good solid ground. Sound simple, but we always seem to overlook the obvious... or Possibly the deck has a high output(rms watts) and is overpowering the inputs on the amp. In this case use a line out converter.

All depending on the size of your sub or amp the wattage just might not be powerful enough. 1st thing is just try putting a ground wire on a decent part of the car. ground/earth whatever you wanna call it

Sleuthing a 300/4 low-ohm issue. 300/4 amp history: unknown. just connected today whole system yesterday/today: head unit, 300/4(to 4 polk 6.5" component speakers brand new) 1000/1 (4-W3's),...

Are you sure you getting enough power to push everything. I have seen when the voltage is too low coming in, the amps will shut down so they don't overheat. Once they've cooled off and the volume level is lowered they will kick in again. Low voltage and a heavy draw will create massive amounts of heat.

Ive got a jvc kd g140 and it cuts out at high volume.

did you hook this head unit up or did you have some one hook it up for you? most of the time it is that factory amp that makes it cute in and out. take the head unit out of you car and hook it up with a 12 volt power in your house or on you battary with a speaker and if it still cuts out the amp chip need to be replaced. let me know if this helped. thanks.

Amp keeps turning off

an amplifier needs minimum voltage (usually 6Amps) to turn on. If there is 12V at the input of your amplifier, check the remote for 12V as well as making sure the ground is secured. I suspect based on limited information, that your alternator/charging system is the culprit.Take your amplifier to a local shop and have it bench tested (abuot $10) they will hook up to an independant power supply and verify its properly working. Then it can be eliminated as the source of the problem. Also be sure your wiring and fuse are accurate for the amount of current draw.
Since your protection has never come on, and the power light is going out altogether, you may have an input voltage problem.

Amplifier power cutting out

not enough power to amp and or amps location is too hot might want to invest in a couple cooling fans from computer store and attach where needed

an amp should take up to 3/4 load but when not enough air to it to cool it off it will shut down

try this turn gain all the way down and slowly work up too desired amp volume setting

On hold Music

On the Prostar 816 the MOH is connected to the BK-OR/OR-BK wires of the Female connector on the Base Champ Connector. You will need to connect the Headset jack connector to this location, that means cutting off the headset/ear piece from the wire and terminating it to the BK-OR pair of wires. Then MMC 309 and 408 are used to program the music on hold source to the stations and trunks.
