whirlpool top load washer apartment size. It leaked over floor, husband could not find problem. Moved to garage for spare for dying clothes because it still partly works and can drain on ground.
What it does. If trying to fill with water manually with hose or just pouring in, water comes through the bottom, not from the drain hose which is at proper height. This is without even turning machine on, water just pours out.
With machine on, I can wash item by hand and place in inner tub, as it will not wash etc I use it for the spin. it does do that and the water drains from the machines drain hose. The clothes come up spin dried to perfection.
Water in the outer tub accumulates over time and this will not drain at all. How do I get this water out.
Also any ideas of what is wrong with the machine. I do a lot of home dying for home projects so this machine comes in handy and I can keep my new washer much cleaner, but I do not want the water accumulation in the bottom or outer tub. if the machine is tipped you can hear it swishing.
The best I can guess is when I put the wet items (soaking wet) in the machine and turn it to spin, it takes care of the water promptly from the clothes but some water is going to the outer tub. The outer tub has never been full as the water goes on the cement in the garage. This only happened when hubby tried filling washer with water to see the problem. he had to tip it to get rid of the water but don't want to have to do this each time. With the moderate amount of water involved in the spin process this doesn't happen but I do not want stale water in the outer tub as well as worry of freezing. Thank you
If water is not getting into the machine, check the following:
To start cut power to the applianc3e for five minutes, this can fix a jammed timer control.
Check if the hot and cold water
faucets are connected, and have good pressure.
If that does not work you may need to call a repairman to test the following:
The inlet valve must be tested by energizing it , testing valve
solenoid, and reading voltages to identify a fault in wiring (contact).
If the inlet valve is fine when tested, worth having a look at the
water level switch, if it is stuck on overfill position , it will
prevent water from getting into the machine.
Lastly, the timer control board should be tested, to ensure that the
problem is not a faulty timer keeping the inlet valve on close position.
