Check all of your plugs, make sure they are clean. Make sure the game that you have inside the system is clean and free of dust as well as the game connector port on the system. Make sure you are on your A/V channel. If all else fails, you ma have to gt a new A/V plug. When I got my Nintendo 64, I tried to plug it in to my TV using the plug that came with it, but it did not work. I soon found that the Playstation 2 A/V cable that I have also has two additional cables to it, and one of them works in the N64 system. So, I tried to play the system with that cable plugged in, and it worked, so I would suggest buying a new A/V cable that works in the N64 system.

Hope this helps!!!!!

You have to make sure that the N64 output cables EXACTLY MATCH the input cables on the tv. red goes to plain red, white goes to plain white, ETC., make sure that the TV input mode is the right one.

Well it might be the av cable or the rf switch which one you are using might be causing the problem or it might need a new expansion pack then.

I just got a nintendo 64, and I can't figure out how to get it work on my flat screen. It's a sony, and its an hdtv. The nintendo came with the three wire cable (Red, White, Yellow) and I've tried plugging...

You need to have a regular RCA input for the N64 A/V cable. Neither component or HDMI will work with the N64's RCAs. Almost all TVs still have RCA inputs on them. Look on you television for a set of three inputs (yellow, red, white). If your TV does not have these inputs, you cannot use an N64 with it.

Nintendo screen not appearing on tv

You need a game in order for the system to boot up. The red light will come on, but nothing will happen without a game.

N64 isn't working with Vizio HDTV...

Do this, hook it up to another tv just to make sure that the N64 is workig properly. If it works on another tv then you know the system is fine. If it doesn't work on another tv then it could be that you have dirty games and you need to clean the contacts and then reinsert them into the system and get them to work.

Keep the system on a known good working tv until you can get your games to work and display properly. You can clean the games by using a damp q-tip and wiping the contacts on the bottom of the game back and forth a bunch of times, there will probably be all kinds of black that comes off.

keep on trying games untill you get one to work and display properly, then go ahead and move the tv to the one you want it to work on and test it out and it just might work then.

Well I think that its broken then like it sounds like a power supply issue or and a laser assembly failure so you will just have to buy a new one then.

Nintendo 64 HDTV

I am not an HDTV expert but I believe they are all backwards compatible so the fact it is HD should not be a problem. Have you tried a vcr or dvd player on the same hook ups? It is possible you are trying to use a video input that is already in use? I know on my TV I have the DVD hooked up with an S-video cable to "Video 2". Right next to the S-video hookup are the red, yellow, white RCA jacks. On my TV these can't be used when the S-video is in use so I have to have the games hooked up to the front panel "Video 3". I would disconnect everything and try hooking the N64 up in each input to see if you can find one that works.
