Question about LG 52SX4D 52" HDTV
Don't think it is something major, try reprogramming the tv remote. Set it to antenna instead of cable. Try hooking up with just the tv and nothing else. Look at all the settings on the remote carefully.

You have burned out bulbs that display the picture replacing is expensive. so if its under waranty that would cover the problem

This means the access door for the bulb on the lower right side of the TV is open or loose. There are two screws that hold it in. If they are tight, maybe the interlock switch is bad or disconnected. Open the door, and hold in the little white interlock button while turning on the TV. If it still doesn't work, there are wires leading from the switch to a connector about halfway across the TV on the bottom. Connector might be loose. Unfortunately, it is hard to reach. You might have to remove the screws across the bottom rear edge that hold in the chassis and gently slide it out to reach the connector.

First thing to do is a hard reset. Merely unplugging the HDTV power cord for 4 hours, then power up again.The purposed of unplugging is to dissipitate the stored current in the memory IC so it will gone.
If the reset does not help, try disconnecting anything on input 2. For example, if you have a dvd player connected to that input, the tv may be sensing its presence and switch over to it. (Especially, if the device is left ON).

Have you tried to change the selected INPUT on the TV?
Are you in the US? As all channels are broadcast in Digital Format now... and will not come in without an antenna attached.
There may be a problem with the HD Tuner in your set. Have you scanned for channels recently?
Is it still under warranty??
Do you have a cable box? or just basic cable?
