"Disk is write protected"?

I tried everything, but while in bed one night the thought to turn the unit on before plugging the USB cord in. It worked! Hope it works for you also!

Firstly check if it is password protected or not ,if its password protected than remove it..now see is there any lock in your mp3 player and see if its not locking it, because some players comes with that option to protect usb ..if its not

will help a lot i had the same problem and had to take it apart and short circuit the memory before it resets
