Miller 130 wire advances, fan runs, but will not arc as wire comes out

Most of these machines (would have to have serial number to be sure) will not feed if their is no output voltage, since part of the motor voltage comes from the arc voltage.
So, I would suspect broken wires, either in the work lead or the gun. If it arcs just a little, probably the gun. One place the work lead breaks is right at the back of the clamp. Pull on the insulation and see if it "stretches". If so, the wire there is broken.

I have a bostitch n80c that has a nail feed problem.

If the driver part of the gun works well, check the feed parts. First check the feed pawl where the nails lay. The teeth should be proud enough to catch and hold the nails firmly and it should work freely in its channel. Next you have to check the parts that drive the feed pawl in the cylinder on the side of the gun. There are seals and a spring and piston that should be checked. Replace any worn or broken parts.

Nv45ab won't advance nails

The allen screw/s that you mention are there to plug holes where automatic equipment would normally connect (such as automatic nailing machines) . This is only a plug and should not be driven in too far. I have also seen allen screws installed in the head to repair small crack/s.

Hi:
If your wire feed motor turns, then your problem is one of the two:
The gun's liner is kinked and no longer is allowing the wire to pass freely, or Your outlet wire guide/drive rolls are all worn out.
Easy fix will be to star with changing the liner and new contact tip. But if all that is working is your fan motor, then check your gun's trigger, if gun's trigger is OK, then change the pc board. Good luck!

I have a century mod 11705093 wire welder. I have replaced the trigger switch. Even before this though, when you pull the trigger without wire in it the feed motor spins freely, when you put wire into it...

Hi there,

That sounds like a direct short short to me. My mig has 1 nylon guide tube, one in front of the feed wheel and one just before it inters the liner. They are both insulating the drive wheel from the wire.If the teeth marks are deep enough they will act like a saw and cut right through the nylon tubes and short out on something. You may need a new liner ,the liner is carrying the current instead of the wire. That may be problem. Thank You for choosing FixYa.com

liner.jpg In addition to guiding the wire, the back end of the liner, shown here, contains o-rings and seals to ensure the shielding gas doesn't escape the gun cable.

Hello, I would like to purchase 3035 spool gun and attach it to my self made welder. Could somebody to tell me which power supply I have to provide for spool gun motor? DC voltage, amperage ? Can I use...

the spool gun is a 12volt motor, i usely hook it to the power feed for the feed motor in the welder. it is also 12 volt . i have heard of some welders that have 110 volt feed motors but have not seen one yet but just to be save i would test the power feed to the feed motor before i made the connection.

Wire doesn't feed

Either the trigger mechanism in the gun is bad, the servo that turns the feed wheel is bad, or you have too much tension on the adjustable tensioner knob. Take the wire out of the feed wheel, plug unit in and see if you can get the wheel to turn. If not, it is the trigger or the servo. If it turns, the tensioner was too tight.

Trouble feeding new wire through tip

1. Make sure that the new wire is properly locked down in the advance roller. There are grooves in this and the wire must fit in the groove.
2. Make sure the wire is properly lined up to enter the gun cable (after the roller)
3. Remove outer shield on gun and the center tip and then advance the wire until there is a few inches sticking out, then slide tip back over the wire and install the tip and shield.
