There appears to be a screw up inside where the filter holder goes that won't allow the filter holder to be turned! Is it defective or am I doing something wrong??

I understand that your water filter holder is stuck and will not come off of your Frigidaire refrigerator. I see you have the Pure Source filter and after reviewing that it does not appear to have a filter holder. To remove that filter you should have to push it in and it should discharge. If it is not doing so, I would push it in and turn it slightly to remove it. If you are still having trouble with your filter removal could you provide me with your model number please? You can locate the serial tag (which lists your model number) on the inside of your refrigerator normally on the right hand wall. I look forward to assisting you. -Matt

Most likely the problem is related to a defective water control valve on the dispenser side of the valve. If your model is the ED2FHEXN it will use the=> W10408179 Water Inlet Valve


You should always turn the water supply off before removing the filter cartridge just to insure less water clean up should a water valve be stuck open. At this point I still believe that the water control valve is at fault for not allowing water flow to the dispenser. Here is a parts manual=> ED2FHEXN Parts Manual and here is a link to your ED2FHEXN User Manual You may get some water flow spraying should there be a valve stuck open but that is not the cause of you not getting water to the dispenser. This is likely caused by a defective door ajar switch inside the door on the door latch. I do not have any specific info because this make is not sold here in the USA and that is where Fixya is located.

I had the same problem. It turned out to be the lamp holders themselves which were the problem. Just take out the single screw just in front of the lamp holder assembly and the lamp holder unit comes out. Remove the main lamp holder assembly and turn it over. You will see the four lamp holder wires all go to two main terminals with a positive and negative connector on each. You need to undo the nuts holding the main supply cables and lamp holder wires and remove the cables noting where they came from for easy replacement. If you cut off the wire on the defective units and unscrew the two retaining screws holding each lamp holder they can be removed. You can order on line replacement holders from Amazon and with a little bit of simple soldering and using new wire connectors for the end connectors on the new lamp holder wires can be easily fitted. I have two of these fires and both have had the same fault after about 12 months use, obviously a fault with the holders as they dont last that long and need replaced.

If there were 2 seeds, are you positive there are no more? Try flicking the impellor by hand, if it moves then check for voltage at the pump when running. If no voltage, then pcb, if voltage then pump

If its been some time since you last changed the filter then you may need to pull the filter holder while holding the eject button. Don't twist the cap on the holder, just pull.

If you can't get a grip on it and the eject button still doesn't work then remove the base grille by openeing both doors and pushing the top and pulling the bottom to give you better access to the eject button and filter holder.

i got the same problem and no repair man could help . i think i just got mine fixed 6-15-09 .what you do is go behind the dryer , remove the air duct and then remove the pipe that is inside the machine by removing one screw . this will give you access inside the machine .first clean as much as you can of the lint inside by vacuuming it . if you look to the left you will see 2 wires with a black button in the middle this is the ignitor ,clean it good because i think the dirt is not allowing it to light up . i did that and mine is working but the cooling light is still on .

there should be about 2-4 "slots" that can hold the ND filters. You have to add/screw on the additional side pieces that form the "slots" for the filter(s) to slide into, or add the pieces that make the slots wide enough for the filters. The Filter holder is NOT designed to hold gelatin filters, (the soft, very thin ones that flex when you hold them by the edges. ) only resin or glass filters, such as those made by Calumet, Sinar, Lee, etc. Also, you'll need to experiment a little with the tension of the screws to allow the filters to fit.

Check your screws in the bottom of the portafilter, If they are too tight the spring mechanism inside can't do its job, adjust them and it should work. Also, don't over fill your portafilter, if you put too much coffee in then there is to much pressure and again the water will flow from the top. Hope this helps

I think there are a thermostat fuse inside the machine, you have to take of the top. You have two screw one in each corner where the filter holder is fitted and one under the lid with the water tank.
