Hello,

I'm assuming the air conditioner is a window intallation. Some Air conditioners need water in the botton in order to maintain the condensator coil cool, other have a hole to drain the water. Check inside your equipment, I mean inside, open it and remember all the steps for reassemble. It is more likely inside is stuffed with dust. If its the case, use patiente, toothbrush and hose and carefull not use too much water pressure and mantain electronics and motor DRY!!!

Just bought used portable ac. it blows great cold air then blows warm air for a while then back to cool andcold... is this normal? if not hwo to fix?

Yes it's normal in most cases. There should be a knob to turn so it cycles on more often. If it's not a window unit, & is a free-standing unit, you might have to empty a water pan or tank on it. As condensation collects on the cooling coils, it collects in a container near the bottom. If it's full of water, it will cycle the cooling off until you empty the water container or some of the water in it evaporates.

My LG LP1200DXR Portable Air Conditioner seems to be working properly, cooling the room as it should but no longer is draining any water. It does not shut off as it would when it is full although I have...

Actually, your unit was not designed for continuous draining. It needs water in the tank to help cool the coils. I'm sort of surprised that the unit hasn't stopped cooling or hasn't overheated. Since you haven't seen any water in the drain tank you have, it may have pasted the point of no return. Disconnect the hose, reinstall the drain plug and hope that you have to start emptying the tank again, soon.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Danby dpac 10071 air conditioner is not cooling. a red light is on next to an icon with a full cup. Does anyone know how to make it cool?

That indicates that the water collection bucket is full and needs to be drained. Once the unit is turned OFF, unplugged and drained, the unit will start up and start cooling again. The drain hole is on the rear of the unit, just above floor level. You can either drain it in a shallow sided pan capable of holding 1 quart of water. Or roll it to a floor drain or outside to drain it.

Hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

There is no drain pipe for the unit I have. It has a cap on the back but no hold, how does the condensation.

Self Evaporating Technology - During the cooling process, water is extracted from the air into the unit. Most of this water is then recycled and used to cool the unit and make it run more efficiently. Approximately 65 to 70% of water condensed is evaporated out with the exhaust air, reducing the hassle of emptying the water tank constantly. This unit has a built-in water tank (not removable) with a drain outlet, and a water tube. When the tank fills, the compressor stops operating and the power light will flash. This indicates that the tank should be emptied.

New air conditioner turns itself off two minutes after starting

this sounds as if you have an over amping compresser or blower motor......you'll need an amp meter to be sure. as they over amp they heat up and go off on internal protection until they cool back down in which case it may try to run again and again and again and again and again......should I continoue...good luck

Water coming out of the vent

Assuming this is a window unit, make sure it is level. If so, the drain tube between inside & outside may be plugged. This is often visible with the front panel off, & the tube can be cleared with a piece of coathanger wire. The tube is usually only a couple of inches long. Check for damage to the water tray under the cooling coil as well.
