Question about Wurlitzer Jukebox 1015 One More Time 100-Disc CD Changer

1 Answer

Jukebox won't play selection, selects cd's 1-100 in order

I have a Seeburg Bubbler Jukebox that plays cds. It has always worked beautifully but about two months ago it stopped taking selections. When you type in a selection it starts on cd 1 and selects it but won't play, and continues selecting one after another until 102, but won't play anything. I've tried unplugging it and messing with wires, but I don't know what I'm doing and I lost the manual a long time ago. I need some serious help!

I'm not sure if the other answers even come close to answering you questions.
Since you know nothing about it you might want to get a manual first off.
More info on your model here - http://www.jukebox-world.de/Forum/Archiv/Seeburg/SeeburgMatador.htm

There are selection trouble shooting & help are located here - http://www.ebay.com/itm/231698068028?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

Additional tips
All light bulbs
that are located in the key pad "light box" "First digit", "Second digit", Reset / Re-select etc.. are controlled and LIT BY THE SELECTION COMPUTER. They must have the correct bulbs installed! These are special 28V bulbs. Depending on your particular jukebox model, you NEED to use one of the two types listed below.

GE 656 - 28V .06A 2500HR LIFE T3 1/4IN WEDGE BASE MAN19600 EIKO BRAND or

GE 1819 - 1.12 WATTS 28 VOLT BA9S SINGLE CONTACT BAYONET, 9MM DIAMETER.

Installing a 6 or 12 Volt bulb here will cause damage to either your replacement box, and / or the resistors that are located on the small circuit board on the back of the light box. (These resistors are inline on models using 1819 bulbs)

CAUTION
BOTH lamp types look exactly like 12v bulbs, BUT THEY ARE NOT, and are often mistaken for 12v bulbs. This is a very common mistake made by many Seeburg owners, so be careful with this.

My question is about the seeburg SPS-160 Juke Box

There is a "service switch" (bypass) that is mounted in the upper left corner (inside) of the title board (lid). It is designed to be moved in the run position when the lid is closed. If yours is still there it may be causing trouble since you moved it. This switch is often removed and covered in a ball of electrical tape and is laying in the bottom of the machine. The operators did this because the switch would frequently fail.

Troubleshooting Proceedure for this problem

1) Power off the jukebox.
2) Check the black RCA cable that plugs into the DCC (digital control center) this is labeled "Tormat" Just unplug it and plug it back in. There might be 2 more RCA connectors on the side of the mechanism control box (several black switches) Just unplug them and plug them back in. Make sure they ALL make really good connection and are tight. This cable carries the selection signal to the boxes.

3) Unplug the black and gray boxes. Examine these plugs for damage or corrosion and plug them back in again. Make sure that you check the little wire with the bullet plug located between the two plugs for the gray box.

4) After everything is back in place, power on the jukebox and see if it selects. If no result (continue)

5) On the side edge of the DCC there is a plastic cover that has test points under it. These voltages will need to be checked with a volt meter. With the power ON, touch the BLACK meter lead to the chassis (metal) and touch the RED lead to each of the screws ONE AT A TIME, be careful not to touch 2 or more of them together. Main concern is +27v, -27v, & 13v . Voltages can be + or - 2 volts.
If voltages are missing the power supply board in the DCC needs to be looked at.

Play a CD and you will know if your amp is working. Also, check that the cables at the back of the iPod drawer haven't been dragged out. That's a common problem.

Same key that operates the locks on the sides unlocks the top, but top might be sticky. Push down on it.
Order keys if you don't have them. It's key F291. GOOD locksmith can make it or order one off eBay.
Your jukebox is a USC2. Use that model number as a reference.
Keypad "0" contacts are probably dirty or broken, or the connectors to the keyboard or black and gray boxes might be loose or need cleaning. Circuit board might be dirty (YES! This is a common Seeburg issue). To clean it of check for broken contacts on the "0" key, you'll have to remove it and open it up. Putting it back together can be tricky. Be patient.
Worst case, you can install a replacement keyboard.

If you have someone come out, be SURE to have them give the jukebox a good lubrication. Seeburgs are complicated machines and need periodic lubrication.

Also, buy a manual. Jukebox repairmen don't usually have the manuals for your jukebox. Too many.
