Question about Sears Craftsman LiftMaster Chamberlain Garage Door Opener Wireless Keypad Model 976LM Security+
When you press the button to close the garage door, it begins to shut for a second, then returns to the open position and a clicking sounds from the light housing. I unhinged it and tried shutting it manually and it closed fine. I pressed the button again and the chain ran fine and then clicked back into place, now closed. Pressed the button once more and it opened fine. One more press and same problem, wont shut UNLESS you hold down the button. If you hold it down until fully closed it works fine, if you press it once it returns to open position. I tried increasing the close force and that also did not work. Any suggestions?
You have a door sensor problem. Either your main light bulb is burned out or you don't have one in your opener. The clicking sound you hear is the relay for the light. Both of the door sensors should have a small light that is lit. Tweak them until they are.
