We have a Kenmore Model#363.9552410 that is a side by side with ice maker inside. We noticed the back wall of the freezer was completely frosted over and no ice was being made. We turned off the whole thing and let the freezer "thaw" for a couple of hours. Then we turned it back on and the ice was being made, but then the food part was getting warm after several hours. Any suggestions?
Most likely your defrost timer is defective. Located inside the fresh food section and inside a metal box behind the control panel. Turn the timer slowly clockwise until compressor stops. Wait 30 minutes or until compressor restarts If the compressor does not restart turn again until it starts during this time the freezer should be in defrost and sounds of crackling or sizzling is normal. Let me know what you find. The part number for your defrost timer WR9X489 http://servicepartstec.blogspot.com/

I want to remove the Cover to access the cube or crushed switch. How is the Recess cover held on? Should I just 'pop' it off? What are the chances of it breaking? I have a Kenmore side-by-side, model 363.9517711 and I can not get it to crush ice. I get cubed ice, but not crushed. I want to see if the switch is connected but I am having a problem figuring out how to remove the access cover on the (inside freezer) door.

My Kenmore Ice maker produces Ice just fine, but I end up getting a big clump of stuck together ice in the Ice Tray. all of the food seems fine. I have watched the water fill cycle and it dosen't look like it is overfilling or splashing out. I am thinking that it may have something to do with the Defrost cycle. Any suggestions for trouble shooting this problem? Thanks!
