Hi,
May i direct you to this site : http://www.pocketpccentral.net/help/dellx3reset.htm
It shows how to soft reset and hard reset your Axim. I believe that after a hard reset your axim shall sync and you should try updating the rom again.
I take it you were using a rom update from Dell?
