No cold water

Whirlpool Imperial 20 years old. Started cycle and tub was filling with cold water but water flow stopped while putting in clothes. Changed to Warm temperature and water started flowing again. When cycle got to the rinse portion it just sat there but when i switched to warm rinse tub filled again.
