Both should be set at 1 and a half turns out to start. Turning the screws out will richen. Turning in will lean. If its hard to start or boggs/ dies when you throttle then its lean- turn the low out another half turn. If it revs up for a minute then slows down richen up the high. At full throttle you still want to hear a bit of a cackle- adjust the high

SOURCE: Can't get weed eater started. Have an older weed

This is a common problem on older Poulan models. Press the primer button 10 times and pull the starter rope twice, then pull the spark plug and examine it. If the plug is wet that means gas is definitely getting to the combustion chamber. Next thing is to use a compression tester. If you do not have a compression tester but have an AutoZone anywhere near you, you can get a loaner from them. Screw the compression tester into the plug hole and pull the start rope 4 times. If the tester reads anything below 90psi, you have a bad ring and will have to take the motor apart to clean the piston and ring or replace the ring.

Keep me posted on what you find, ok? I can walk you through the procedure to replace the ring if necessary. Good Luck!

Have you been able to make adjustments to the carb's high and low settings? If not, there is a good chance it has the limiter caps that require a special tool for the adjustments. It will have to be taken to a dealer to get that done.

Can not adjust carburetor

Yes...they have them on Ebay. Normally you won't be able to get one from a small engine repair place or dealer unless you're "in" with them. You can make using a 22 gauge-18 calibre electrical connector. (Quick disconnects-female) They need to be female spade terminals and you can stick um on the end of a screw driver and then push them down over the round-splined heads of the L and H adjusting needles on the carb. Probably have them at auto parts store....if not Radio Shack.

2375 ''wild thing'' poulan saw hard starting after carb rebuild

Through trial and error on fairly new Poulin Pro, found that the usual 3-half turns for both high and low was too much (flooded) (Used to be good starting point on weed eaters years ago. So, turned both all the way in, and only backed out 1-full turn. (2-halves) Saw fired up perfectly, and ran wide open just fine. Try that.
