Battery charge issue with Dell XPS M1530

Why does the battery not charge even when the computer is plugged up? It seems that when the computer goes into rest mode, the battery stop charging too.

When the battery is fully charged the circuit inside the laptop, automatically. stop charging to increase the the life of the battery,,, thank you,, plz rate me.,,,

You will have to replace the laptop battery.If you are still under warranty.Worst case the motherboard,but i think the battery is bad.

Try to see if there is a BIOS update for your laptop. The last version is A12. That sometimes will fix the problem. If not then it is most likely that the internal charger is built into the motherboard of the laptop is starting to fail. You would have to replace that part or most likely the entire motherboard.

Its a common issue for DELL Laptops usually if the battery and charger are working fine the culprit is the motherboard. If its still under warranty have them replace the motherboard and it will be good as new.Thanks

Get a battery for the motherboard, its the small round battery on the motherboard,
it will cost about £2.50 and then let it charge up, and very thing should be ok again

My Dell XPS M1530 has a flashing "X" on my battery. It says 'Consider replacing your battery'. It still charges but I don't know what to do.


This message is a indicator that your battery is approaching
EOL ( end of life) however it will continue to work normally what you can do is consideer buying a new battery at your convience

My computer (dell m1530) is saying that it does not recognize the battery. what can I do to correct this?


This is a VERY common problemTry charging the computer battery without turning it on for atleast 8 hours then please update the system BIOS

Remove the battery and power cable from the system and press the power button for about 5 seconds, then plug in the charger and start the laptop. it will work. shutdown it and put the battery back and start once again . now you can see its working

I have a Dell XPS M1530 and it will not power up. I push the power button and the blue light goes on for 3-5 seconds and then goes off. Power is entering laptop and battery is fully charged but nothing...


this is either a motherboard, AC or battery problem. Isolate it by removing all attached devices, then emove the battery and power on the computer with just the AC adapter. If that does not work, remove try to use another AC, and another battery. if using another AC and another battery does not work, run the diagnostics on the dell laptop. press and hold the FN key, then press the power button. see if that will give you any error and take note if any of the lock lights will come up and/or blink.
