The refrigerator gets cold air from the freezer. There is a small vent in which cold air make its way to the refrigerator from the freezer. make sure that vent is not blocked by ice or something.

My kenmore cold spot frezer side was warm and the ice was melting

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.

Sounds like the cold control has stuck . Unplug the two wires from the cold control and plug them together. Turn one wire over and plug it into the other. away from the cold control.
The cold control is the knob in the ref that turns it on and off and has numbers on it. (Thermostat)
If it runs then that cold control (Thernostat) is the problem.
If that doesn't work DO THIS:
The relay on the compressor may need replaced
A relay starts the compressor with a higher voltage and then quickly kicks out
Thats what is happening with yours
Its best for a tech to replace The relay but you can do it
Take your model number to your Local Appliance parts store they will have a diagram
showing you how to install the relay. Its called a hard start relay
also try hooking the two wires together on the cold control to route around the cold control.
Be sure the BACK COVER is in place and hasnt been accidently removed.

RV donitc RM2601 frezer works but frig does not. Frezer has frost on the upper panel. The frig has accessive water in the plastic drip reservoir.

Hi,
First I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if freezer control is turned WARMER, which makes the Ref. colder
Also this might be a common Defrost problem, Ice
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath
Check cold control (thats where you turn it colder)

Fridge freezing everything

THIS REF. WORKS BEST WITH THE REF. SET ON 4 OR 5 AND THE FREEZER AT 2 1/2 OR 3. HAVING A HIGH FREEZER TEMPATURE CAN HAVE FREEZING IN THE BOTTOM DRAWER OF TH REF. MAINLY BECAUSE OF THE RETURN AIR VENT TO THE FREZER IS BEHIND THAT DRAWER.

Refrigerator doesn't cool; Frezer gets cold but frosts badly. Liquid (we think it was water) leaked from ref for a few days but has stopped leaking (may be unrelated to refrig not cooling)

hi ,
your freezer cabinet need to get all out and open the back wall.
  1. you have 2 element that can be check one is the heating element , tow is the thermostat.
  2. you need a volt meter to check them.
  3. if the frost is all over the coils then one of the element i told you before, is bad
  4. if the frost is in one area not all over then you got gas leak.

Garage kit (heater)to install on kenmore ref. #106 5155 102 to operate in unheated gagage instructions in step 4 says to unplug 2 wires from cold control orange - black ..plug orange lead to orange heater...

The kit should just be a heater that piggy backs off the 2 wires going to your cold controle or thermostat. orange and black go back on the cold control with the heater piggy backed. The kit heats the cold control to make it think its warmer in the room or box than it is so it will run long enough to keep frezer frozen.

Bottom wont stay cold top frezer it work bottom ref. wont saty cold and the light work and the fan blowing so im looking for why it wont stay cold at the bottom reg.

make sure you don't have the air flow passages in the back of the freezer blocked with food items or frost. if you have alot of food or items in the freezer and its packed tight it won't let the cold air circulate into the bottom unit

My refrigerator is't cooling & my freezer is

Pull down plastic panel inside which covers the temp adjustment. In center there is small panel and under neath is computer chip board R&R board. This should fix your problem but be sure to turn ref off and defrost the chiller tubed on freezer side before starting back up

Fridghefreezer not working

Make sur compressor is running.

Unplug for 20-25 min., plug it back in and listen for compressor to start. You will need to be behind the Ref so you can tell if you hear the compressor or the condenser fan running.

Ice/frost build up in freezer.
This is a failure of the defrost system. Evaporator fan, heater, timer, one or more could be bad.

Kitchenaid built-in refrig 15 yrs old cold freezer, warm fridge

it.s the frezer that makes the refer cold.the evap fan in the frezer moves that chilled air to the refer.if that fan is slow or any blockage inthe air ways it slows that process. Also the frezer should be close to 0 degrees if theres a defrost prob that would make fresh food warmer

Placing a refrigerator in the garage

IF YOUR GARAGE TEMP GOES BELOW 35 THE REF MAY NOT WORK WELL BECAUSE MOST REF HAVE THE THERMOSTAT AS THE REF CONTROL. THE TEMP IN THE BOX IS SENSED AT THAT POINT AND SHUTS OFF, THE REF SEEM TO WORK BUT THE FREEZER WILL WARM UP.
IF YOU WANT TO USE A REF IN THE GARAGE, FIND ONE THAT HAS THE THERMOSTAT CONTROL AS THE FREZER CONTROL. LOOK AT THE CONTROLS, THE ONE THAT HAS AN OFF POSITION IS THE CONTROL THAT IS THE THERMOSTAT. SO, THE FREZER CONTROL SHOULD SAY "OFF" SOME NEWER REF WITH FULL ELECTROINIC CONTROLS MAY WORK AS THEY HAVE INDIVIDUAL SENSORS FOR BOTH THE REF AND FREEZER SECTIONS.
