Need a replacement needle for a Philco turntable that has a Diamond needle? The model # is a 1962 Philco Stereophonic High Fidelity model # K-1636X-121

What you need to do is look at the cartridge it fits in. It should have a make and model number on it. Put them into a Google search and the cartridge and Stylus should come up.

You need to replace the belt, make a note on how it fits before removing it.

Hi, most likely the diamond tip has broken off your stylus. Remove stylus from cartridge and inspect under magnification. Replace if tip is missing or damaged. Cheers John.

The best place to get a replacement is from any Radio Shack electronics store. You can also get needles on line.

is the motor getting AC to it?
can you feel any hum or heat on the motor itself.?
Have you tried hand turning the shaft in the motor?

Bushings often totally dry up and have to be re-lubed

Place the rubber band around the turntable and put a paper clip, bent up behind the rubber band. Start the turntable on it's spindle and you will be able to view that drive spindle on the right side, slowly pull the rubber band with the paperclip and drop over the drive spindle. remove paperclip and push turntable down seating it and replace the lock snap.
