Question about HP Photosmart C4180 All-In-One InkJet Printer

2 Answers

My HP C4180 printer will not turn on. I notice that a flash of light occurs when I plug it in different outlets, but the on/off button does not respond. It was working fine the last time I tried to use it before I shut down the computer for a trip. When I came back and booted the computer, the printer wouldn't come on, and it won't come on regardless of whether or not it is connected to the computer or any outlet I've tried in the house.

You probably have a bad AC adapter. Check eBay to buy a new one.

Hp psc 1401 printing slow problem

Reset and relocate the productA power reset drains power from the product and returns the product to the same settings after restarting. To eliminate any potential power deficiencies that might hinder a successful alignment, HP suggests you move the product to another location and plug the product directly into a wall outlet. Follow these steps to reset and relocate the product.
  1. Press the On/Resume button to turn on the product.
  2. With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.
  3. Relocate the printer to a different power outlet, preferably an outlet in a different room.
  4. Plug the power cord directly into the wall outlet. Do not use a power strip, extension cord, or surge protector. CAUTION: Do not reconnect the power cord to the back of the product at this time.
  5. Load letter or A4 size unused, plain white paper in the tray.
  6. Reconnect the power cord to the back of the product.
  7. Press the On/Resume button to turn on the product. The product automatically prints an alignment page.

My printer is not turning on.

the first option is trying a different power outlet and the next step if that doesn't work is to replace the power cable or ac adapter of the printer, see if that will do the trick.

My printer shows error C4EB8401 when switched on and wont print?

Verify that the unit is switched on. Disconnect the USB/Ethernet cable from the All-in-One and also disconnect power cable from All-in-One and also from wall outlet.
Wait 30 seconds.
Plug in the power cable to All-in-One and also to wall outlet.
[Now turn On the printer and check the functionality

if the above does not rectify it

Reset the All-in-One to the factory default settings by using these instructions:

1. Unplug the power cable from printer when the printer is powered on.
2. Press and hold OK and HELP buttons while plugging in the power cord.
3. Now turn On the printer.

is this is still not working then it is due to the print cartridge cradle packing up.
and you might have to face buying a new one, but I hope the above will help

C4180 Won't Power On

Make sure the plug is all the way into the AC adapter. Then, you will need someone to verify the output of the AC adapter. You should have a 16VDC and a 32VDC output from the adapter. If that is good, you have an internal problem with the printer. If the output voltage(s) are missing you will need to replace the AC adapter.

Here are the specs:
  • Input voltage: AC 100 to 240 V ~ 1 A 50–60 Hz, grounded
  • Output voltage: DC 32 Vdc===940 mA, 16 V===625 mA
  • HP part# 0957-2146 Call 1-800-227-8164 for availability.

    Lights flashing

    Try the steps mentioned bellow

Unplug the power cord from the All-In-One as well as the power outlet when there is still power in the All-In-One. and wait for atleast 1Min
Plug the power cord directly to a wall outlet without surg protector. (if possible connect it to a different power outlet)
Before connecting the power cord to the All-In-One press and hold the # and no 6 button and then insert the power cord, do not release the keys
until you see a message a reset (if the screen goes blank then release the keys and turn the power on)

    Then check and see

    Good Luck
