The flames from the front left burner is 1/3 orange and 2/3 blue; whereas the flames from the other burners are all blue. There is a strong odour from the front left burner when we turn it on and also the...

The flames should be all blue - except when you first turn it on, where the flame begins, & only when you turn it on. Orange flames mean incomplete combustion is happening. Carbon monoxide is being released. Orange flames can also mean your getting low on gas. Clean it & try moving the disk around. An uneven disc means some flames will be higher & burn your pots. The flames are wrapping around your pots if they're burning on the sides. Keep flames under the pot. Regardless of the being clean, the odor means you need to check your gas level. Once filled back, the odor should be gone if that's the only problem. That is placed in the gas as a safety feature. Don't try to fix this problem yourself if the "easy" solutions don't work. It could be very dangerous. Invest in a carbon monoxide detector especially when you have anything gas.

I have a brinkmann 4 burner. The cross over at the back of the burners has it's own flame. The back of the grill, even at the lowest setting is still very hot. Flames come up between the plates. On...

Sounds like a gas regulator problem. But, somewhat unusual, as most people complain of low flames. In any event, you will need to replace the Hose/Regulator Assembly. They run about $30.00 and can be found at any hardware store or home center, that sell gas grills and accessories.

As a safety measure, after turning off the gas tank, check each burner for blowout or rust through..

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Regarding charmglow 720-0289. can't get a hot enough flame. cleaned all burners and made sure all orficis on the burner were clear even blew out with air hose

Are the burner flames diminishing as you turn on additional burners? In other words, is the flame size correct when one burner is lit, but too small when several burners are lit? Is the flame a nice blue color or yellow? If yellow, adjust each burner's air shutter at the end over each orifice. Have you tried adjusting the pressure on your propane regulator? (If it's red, don't mess with it) If it's a silver regulator and has a center cap, you can remove the cap to adjust the screw inside, by turning it clockwise in 1/4 intervals until the desired flame size has been reached. It's also possible that your burners have corroded closed somewhat. Do you have cast iron or stainless steel burners? Cast iron burners tend to corrode shut over the years due to moisture. Stainless steel burners just tend to rust away and flake, but usually become flare ups or out of control flames. Anyway, that gives you some things to look at. Hope it helps. Douglas

One side of the grill gets hotter than the other.

Is this grill new? How many burners are on this grill? Typically if there is a pressure problem, the farthest burner from the regulator suffers. Looking at the photo of the grill, the tank and regulator are on the right, which would make the left side burner weaker. The flames can be even all around each burner, but if the burner on the right has slightly taller flames than on the left, even increasing the pressure won't "even" it out, it would just make both bigger. It could be just the nature of the beast. If it was feasible and the left and right burner were identical, it would be interesting to see if switching the burners would make any difference. Check to make sure each burner's air shutter adjustment is the same and adjust each for the bluest flame possible. Look for spiderwebs, bugs, or rust debris and blow out with air compressor, if possible. Let us know if you need more assistance. Good luck!

Gas Grill Burners with yellow flames coming from beneath them

the flames should be blue and the burners clean. check gas pressure and the air mixture dampers. touch air will give you the same effect. if the burners are clean, it is the mixture. as far as the slots in the bottom. i have not seen that. but i work on commercial ranges.

My GE Xl44 gas burners will not ignite

If there is no spark at all then the circut is not being completed. The main problem that I had was that there was no ignition even though there WAS a spark and gas. I cleaned out the small pin hole sized inlet on the gas valve with a needle. This allowed the gas to enter the feeder and distribute the gas towards the ignition spark properly.

Also it is very important that the range be level. If there is a pitch to the range the gas may be exiting the distribution cap improperly resulting in improper distribution!
