Question about D-Link SWT DSL-504T ADSL MODEM with 4 Ethernet Ports (790069265204)
I had a adsl d link modem it kept freezing we had to reset it heaps of times we thought it was fault of modem so got a new d link wireless g adsl modem router only to find that it still does it i am going to try diff brand but we dont know why its doing this or if a diff brand will just do the same thing.
Try to upgrade the latest firmware for the router and that would fix this problem, check if this problem is with both wired and wireless computers, if not with the wired..only wireless has problems, check if you have any other wireless device operating in the same frequency of the router..if s, turn off other devices and check b.cos that me interfere your w/ls connection, if wired is having the same problem, connect modem straight to the pc and observe the connection, so that you can isolate problem.. Your router is not synchronized with the line. You should power cycle your router (i.e)disconnect power cable from the router waith for 30 seconds and then reconnect, check if the dsl cable is connected properly to the router, if yes remove it once and the reconnect it, this should fix the problem. upgrade the latest firmware version for your router .Are there any electrical devices near the router that are only switched on at that time of day and then switched off again in the morning. What i'm thinking is that you are experiencing REI or Repetitive Electronic Interference. This is caused by EMP emmisions form devices nearby. Have you had anything fitted recently that may be hardwired into you master socket, this will bypass your filter and cause interference on the line. The only other thing I can think of is that there maybe some engineering works going on at the exchange or on the line.

when you upgraded did any settings from your isp change like passwords or usenames that your router may not be registering at your isp's server, or the line speed that you are now getting is not suported by the router.
type 192.168.2.1 in your web browser and check the connection settings.
