Question about HP Photosmart 3310 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I have a simular problem reported by many hp 3310 users--with a few differences.
The speifics are:
I CAN scan a paper or photo
I CAN copy a paper (The carrriage arm works fine for both these operations--it goes the entire length of the glass).
My problem is if I am trying to fax or scan slides. After a little movement the carriage arm comes to a gringing halt which locks up the printer. The only way I can get it to reset is to pull out the power plug.
I've looked online and have found no solution to the problem. I reinstalled the printer but have the same results.
Thanks for any suggestions.
I have the exact same problem: I can scan and copy but cannot fax (carriage arm grinds and stops). I tried solution #1 listed on this site: take out the power cable, press and hold # and 3 for 30 seconds, while pressing them plug in the power cable. Then perform the same operation with # and 6. This did not resolve the problem. However, I then unplugged the printer (since it was jammed) and left it unplugged overnight. When I plugged it in in the morning, the fax worked fine. A week later, the fax did the same thing (after a power failure), so I again tried resetting it with no result and as a last effort, unplugged it overnight and when I plugged it back in in the morning, it worked. Not sure if this was just luck, but it worked twice.
