had the unit for less than two years and it started icing up and not collecting water. got a frigidaire unit and am much happier. i still have the unit.. is it even worth getting repaired??? whats the typical cost?
Dehumidifiers must be operated in an environmental temperature of 65 degrees of greater. If that condition is met and it still freezes up, the other possibility might be the fan that moves the air over the coils has frozen up and needs replaced. If it is that simple, then repair it, otherwise it's more that the cost of a new dehumidifier.

I have a LG LHD45 EL dehumifier, which I purchased in Feb of 2008. I run it 24/7, and it is hooked up to my washtub to drain. It worked fine until it just shut down the other day. I have no fan, no lights, no anything. The filter has been cleaned, and the coils look clean. I checked the outlet it was plugged into, and that is working with other appliances. Can you give me some idea as to why this happened. I am thinking it should have lasted longer than this.
Thanks so much

The coils iced up. Now the unit is cycling strangely. Sometimes the compressor won't come on. Other times, when you remove the bucket to empty the water, the fan will come back on but the compressor won't. Also, only the two sets of coils in front seem to be cooling.
