Sounds like a blocked lance jet to me. remove lance jet, clean it . run machine watch for steady streeam of water, if not a steady stream of water, it could be pulling in air on the suction, or its bleeding air from the inlet pipe.

hope this helps

Just had the same problem and guess that it was starving for water but No... There is a defect in the handle trigger that "pushes back" when the pressure rises to shut off the valve. I dissassembled the handle and shimmed out the silver button that presses on the trigger valve (it taps out from the back with a finishing nail). You can probably just reset it a little high without adding a washer underneath. No problem since.

Are you making the machine **** for water, if so you have got a air leak on the suction hose.
try force feeding with water by connecting your hose to the mains water hose and see if you can see a water leak.
could be starved of water also, chack the filter

Karcher hds745 m-eco builds up to pressure. Runs fine for 300 seconds then loses pressure buids up runs for 20 seco ds loses prwssure again checked. Dilter strainer water pressure seems good any ideas...

If nozzle is partially clogged, it can cause unloader valve to shift back and forth from high pressure to bypass. Air in the feed line can also cause this symptom. Some Karcher models have auto start/stop system which can behave this way if worn out, or out of adjustment.

My Karcher 11/5 U starts and stops when not in use

Pressure washers do this due to a valve called the 'unloader'. It's purpose is to relieve pressure from the pump when not in use so it is not under continuous strain, but there is also a pressure switch linked to the motor that will fire it up if the pressure drops to low so your washer is always primed and ready for action. This means tht the unloader relieves the pressure, then the electric pressure switch pumps it again to keep the pressure high. If it is doing it a couple of times a minute I wouldn't worry, but if it is every few seconds it would indicate to me that the pump is losing pressure constantly somewhere. Main reasons would be;
It could be a weak unloader, which is basically a strongish spring and a couple of plates and seals, but would normally come as a kit or complete valve.
A leaky seal in or around the pump. If this was the case you should see water leaking from the unit somewhere and then you could pin point the worn/damaged seal and replace it. Most washers have seal kits and it is advisable to replace seals in this way as it saves time later (especially if a worn seal, others will be wearing out too).
Failed non return valve. In the pump head there are normally two non return valves per piston (one directly after the piston and one a bit deeper into the outlet side) and also a couple in the back end of the pump head. These basically allow the pressurised water to be pushed through the pump and stop it flowing back into the cylinder set. If the water can flow back as well as forwards it will not keep pressure (like blowing a balloon up but not holding it shut between breaths). Non return valves will normally be supplied as a set and will be assembled already so just push into place when the pump head is apart. You would not see a leak if thesse valves are perished as the water will just flow back toward the source instead of out of the machine anywhere.

Hi Bought karcher k5.80 some time ago It didnt work well and I put it away however got it out again its blasts then trickles water on for couple of seconds the off again. What if anything can I do?

I got the same problem as msellar1. Anyone got any ideas to resolve???
Basically, turning the spray nozzle to reduce the pressure works - but this is next to useless for cleaning anything. I fixed the leaky tap in case air was getting into the system but no. It's been like it since day 1, on and off, but now more stop & start than ever! Maybe thats why it was reduced to I think £150 from £275???

Pressure washer is pulsating when powered on

it just the presure building back up ,it will last years doing this,i would not worrie as replacing the presure pump will only be a temp fix and it will do it again ,most washes do this after a year or lots of use.

The presure pump is not working.

Try to release the pressure from the wand. Take of the tip if you have to. If that doesn't work take the spark plug out and pull, oil may have gone into the valves. Clean the plug and put it back. It will clear, the smoke that is. Lemme know. Please rate me

Karcher Power Washer that surges up and down with water pressure.

Before you start it up:
1. Disconnect the high pressure hose 2. Connect the water supply and turn on 3. Make sure water is flowing through the pump
Start the motor, run for about 10 seconds and then turn off.
Turn off the water supply, connect the high pressure hose, turn water back on, start the motor and away you go.

Karcher Pressure washer

don't know if this will help, but when I use mine, to start the pressure up I have to turn the nozzle to fine spray then turn it to the power spray and it works every time, shouldn't have to do this but I got it for nothing.

Refrigerator buzzing for 10 seconds every 4 or 5 minutes

Buzzing is usually a fan, like one in the freezer, or back bottom - for cooling the freon. The compressor over-heat usually will make a single click (off) and a few minutes later a click (on). If the fan in the freezer stops working well, the freezer will frost up and the fridge section will not be cold enough.
