Question about Singer 7436 - INGENUITY
Make sure that you are pushing the bobbin winder to the right and that it is clicking in place once you put the bobbin case on the spindle, if the the little plastic piece to the right that stops the bobbin when it is full is too close it will not allow the spindle to catch the mechanism to "wind the bobbin". Loosen the screw and turn it away from the spindle then try again. That's all I've got, hope it helps, this happened to me on my first machine...

Take it to repair shop, getting to the problem requires taking the shell cover off the machine, difficult to do, then fixing the problem might be electronic in nature.
