Question about Apple iPhone 3G Black Smartphone
Try holding down just the sleep/wake button till screen goes black, then hold down the home screen button and plug into iTunes and wait for iTunes to say:
iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode......
then let off the button set phone down and hit ok in iTunes then restore to factory..

We would suggest you connect your iPhone to your computer and do a complete restore. If this does not fix the problem, you may have a hardware issue - if your iPhone is still under warranty, visit an Apple retail store. If out of warranty, there are a lot of repair companies that can help, including us.
Try the steps to restore in this support document: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
Hope this helps!
