Hi,

please attempt to twist the top or the bottom of the flashlight off in order to open it and the batteries that you've mentioned. Otherwise, you can drop buy your local geeksquad/bestbuy to have a tech do the battery replacement for you.

Thank you.

Not sure which bit to unscrew when trying change battery in onyx50

The flashlight uses 1 AA battery. My guess, you should only have to unscrew the end cap. If you finds it very hard to unscrew the end cap off, it could be from the battery has explode and swollen. MAYBE - I see this happen in my daughters MAG flashlight. DO not keep your flashlight in the car with the batteries installed. The amount of heat in the cars can ruin the batteries in the flashlight.

How to open maglite flashlight to change batteries?

At the bottom of the Flashlight where the hole for a keychain ring is, or yours may have already came with the ring attached, although it may seem to be so perfectly welded or casted that thrrs no seam, if you twist the end by the ring attached or can grip it, the end twists off to allow you to switch the AA battery. Hope this helps
