Whirlpool green series WDF750SAYW2 fills with water then just clicks a few times. Does not go to wash cycle...stays on for the entire program time without washing, then drains. Only 7 months old. What might the problem be?

Sounds like a bad wash pump motor the clicks represent the control relay sending voltage to the motor if motor doesn't operate it cannot return signal to control

SOURCE: dishwater fills with water, hot...but doesnt wash?

when in the wash phase, listen for a low hum near the wash pump. if you hear this it indicates the wash pump capacitor is faulty or something jammed in the pump.after that you will have to access the wash pump and check if there is any supply to it

SOURCE: Dishwasher Kenmore Ultrawash

One possibility is that the screen/filter to the wash units have become totally clogged. (I had this problem because of some particularly dirty water in the dishwasher.) To access the screen requires taking out the cover at the base of the dishwasher arm assemble which can be done without removing the machine, although you'll need a special screw spline screw driver. Given this the repair takes jsut five or ten minutes. Remove the screen clean it out in the sink and replace.

More likely: the solenoid which directs the water to either the drain or the spray arm is clogged/jammed. Located underneath near the drain line.

SOURCE: Whirlpool dishwasher will not start

There is a small replacable part on the control panel circuit board which is like a fuse. It actually is a temperature fuse and it blows when the environment gets too hot for the circuit board. Unplug the dishwasher and take the door apart so you can see the circuit board. If you trace the power wires one of them leads to a little white module with 2 electrical tabs. Unplug the 2 wires and unsnap the module. You can check it with an ohm meter. IF its good the meter will register almost a short. f it's bad it will be open. The parts place I went to didn't even need a model number and he says he goes through a lot of them.

Kenmore 700 series top loader washer. I put it on the normal cycle, the washer fills and agitates for a few minutes (maybe 5) then drains only to fill back up and finish the cycle. Is this normal?

no
some cycle the agitator during the fill cycle to get better distribution of the clothes as it is filling and then shut of the water and proceed to the wash cycle
have a technician check out the program board

My washing machine fills up with water but does not continue the wash cycle. Sometimes when you slam the lid the washer will continue the wash cycle to the end. Other times the washer stays filled up...

Sounds like the lid safety switch is either out of adjustment, or needs replacement.

Most washers will fill with the lid open, but no continue a cycle where the drum or agitator spin, unless it senses the lid is closed.

There is still soap residue left on the clothes after the wash cycle ends on my whirlpool cabrio washer

Possible that the Rinse cycle is not timed to fill in enough with water or there is obstruction within the inlet valve. Also if there is too much soap that is dispensed it can remain back after the wash.
check the above and choose a normal program or one which is different from the present cycle.

Item: Whirlpool Ultra Dishwasher Age: 3 yrs Problem: Not enough water to effectively wash the dishes. State: When the dishwasher is started, the fill valve opens as normal. Only about 1/2 the amount of...

Larry,
The float is generally for overflow conditions and will interrupt power to the fill valve solenoid.
If you are not filling completely in the time allowed by the timer, it is most likely a flow restriction in the water supply. Barring other obvious restrictions, the fill valve has filter screens on the inlet side of the fill valve, which is generally the cause of your symptoms. Be careful if you attempt to clean the screens, as the fill valves are very sensitive to debris, and can become stuck open if sediment gets past the screen. I usually replace the fill valve to avoid future problems.
Hope this helps.

Washing machine wil not fill - tries several times then stops and all lights except 4 go out

That would be the balance switch, should be located rear right under the main board. over time the switch becomes jamed in the on position and the machine always thinks its off balance. $4 to $10 for a new one.
