(Important: We recommend you to update your security software thoroughly before following the steps below to remove Rocket Search from your system).

To proceed with uninstalling Rocket Search from your system, you first need to locate the list of Programs on your computer. To do this, refer to the following steps:

For Windows 8 users:

1.Right click on the lower left corner of your screen

2.In the quick access menu, select "Control Panel"

3.In the window that opens, choose "Uninstall a Program"

For Windows 7 users:

1.Click "Start" (the Windows logo located at the bottom left corner of your screen)

2.Select "Control Panel"

3.Go to "Programs and Features"

For Windows XP users:

1.Click "Start"

2.Go to "Settings"

3.Click "Control Panel"

4.Go to "Add or Remove Programs"

Once you reach the Programs menu, look for "Rocket" or "WSE Rocket" entries. When found, select these entries and click on "Uninstall" or "Remove" option.

After you have uninstalled it, scan your system thoroughly using your updated security software to make sure that you do not have any more potentially harmful applications in your system.

Once you are done with scanning your system, clean your Firefox browser by following the steps below:

1.Click on Firefox menu icon

2.Select "Add-ons"

3.Click on "Extensions" and then, click on "Remove" tab besides "Rocket New Tab" and "Webget"

4.Again go to Firefox menu and click "Options"

5.In the Window that opens, go to the box besides "Home Page" and wipe out http://www.rocket-find.com. Now, you can either keep the Home Page box blank or enter the URL of your preferred website.

6.Now, go to the address bar of your Firefox browser and type "about:config" (without quotes). Hit Enter.

7.Select "I\'ll be careful, I promise!"

8.In the search filter located at the top of the page, type "rocket" (without quotes)

9.Right-click on the preferences that get listed and select "Reset". This will restore the default values of the preferences.

10.Optionally, you can also reset your Firefox browser by going to

Firefox menu, then clicking on Help icon, then going to "Troubleshooting Information" and then clicking on "Reset Firefox" tab

First I will assume that you do not have a "Anti virus" or "internet security" program installed. Big mistake ! Search for "malwarebytes", You might be able to do this on your current systems IE. You will get a number of choices, select the free version. ( Cnet is one source). If you can download the program using IE , install on your desktop, install/run. If not then go to another computer (not infected) enter "malwarebytes" in a search engine. Download to a Flash drive ,insert the flash drive in your "infected system, download the program to the desktop, have internet access on , install/run Malwarebytes, it will go online for updates, then run a scan. Hopefully this will clean your "hijack Virus" . You can then set your home page to whatever is your choice. While on the other system, you can search for "Rocket Search", there are many sources of information, even a You Tube video. You should also download a very handy (free) removal program "Revo Uninstaller", excellent ! While repairing your system, get a FREE antivirus program installed. "Avast (AVG)", "Avira Free Antivirus 2014" are all highly recomended and will protect you in the future. If you get a popup in your future internet roaming, that promotes a free virus scan and repair download, GET AWAY from that ! They frequently are actually a virus of some kind.

I am looking for direction on how to delete cookies and suggestion of what i've looked at on apple a1005 model ibook and on bing

To delete cookies, look in the Preferences section of whatever browser you favor, where you will find the controls offered to you by that browser for deleting cookies.
I'm parsing the second half of your request as "I want to delete the automatic suggestions and history of phrases I've looked up on search engines." Again, you need to look at the browser Preferences to find the controls to delete your history entries.
Safari has an all-in-one control under the Safari menu called "Reset Safari" that gets rid of all these things at once, plus a lot more.

How to clear the search history on the google search bar . is there a phone number that I can call as I am new to the computer world. Thanks

If you are using "Internet Explorer" as your web browser:

  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. Goto "Tool"
  3. Goto "Internet Options"
  4. Under "Browsing History", hit "Delete"
  5. On the next box hit "Delete All"
This will delete everything in the search bar.

If you are using "Mozilla FireFox" as your browser:
  1. Open FireFox
  2. Goto "Tools"
  3. Goto "Clear Private Data" or "Clear Recent History"
  4. Select all checkboxes
  5. Click "Clear Now"

That will clean you right up. You can also download a program called "CCleaner". After you browse the web, run that program and it deletes all of your searching and browsing history along with temporary files left behind from the browser
