How to Connect Sony Vaio to Wireless Network

By cbrooks9 on Jun 28, 2009

" "
I have a Sony Vaio (Windows XP) that I want to connect to my wireless network - which is a D-Link DI-624. We recently reloaded the Sony with the operating system and obviously removed the program needed for receiving the wireless feed (it worked fine before reloading the Sony). What do I need to do ?? Thanks

Check first if the wireless card drivers are installed properly Hit on Windows and Pause Break key simultaneously. Click on Hardware Tab then Device Manager Click on the plus sign under network adapters and verify that there is a wireless card listed there with no red x, question mark, and exclamation point. Double-click on it and check the device status if it says "This Device is Working Properly". Let me know if this is the case on your device manager so we can proceed with checking your wireless settings.

hi

there are a few steps involved

1. check to see the ip address provided to you by the ISP and group your ip address range to the same range
2. check to see if you require any DNS server addresses
3. check to see when the router is connected at the internet port from the modem then is it having signal at the port numbered 1 only or is there no signal at all ports 1-4
4. if there is signal at port1 but not on other ports then instead of connectng the cable from the modem at the INTERNET port connect it to port1 and it will be distributed to all the ports 2-3 also there will be wireless connectivity too

cheers
