Go to www.hp.com and let the printers section auto-detect your printer and download the drivers automatically.

To fix this, download a new set of drivers for HP Deskjet F2280 All-in-One from HP official website.

  • Go to http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=3390947
  • Choose your operating system
  • Download the driver

Before you install the new downloaded driver, don't forget to uninstall the old one. So,

  • Go to Control Panel
  • Choose "System"
  • On the left panel, click "Device Manager"
  • Find your printer, right click on it and choose Uninstall.

After this, restart your system.

I have a cannon printer that I always could scan with my old computer. I have a new laptop and I don't know how to make it scan now.

Yeah, something changed and some older scanners do not work with new OS and hardware. Fortunately new printer/scanners are not very expensive. I think the programming standards changed in terms of scanners. One cool option of new stuff is wireless printing and scanning, so this means that you no longer have to go to the host (sharing ) system to scan, but you can scan and control from the laptop. I prefer HP. Set up works fairly easily, but you do need to have access codes for your router. FOLLOW install directions EXACTLY, and specifically NOT plug an play.

Chances are that your police communications have moved to a trunked radio system, while fire and EMS remain on a "standard" system for compatibility. For the latest information on active frequencies and systems in your area, visit www.RadioReference.com

All in One Scanner/Printer problems

Go to this link and type "cannot communicate with scanner" in the search box. Click Search. Then select the "ERROR: Cannot communicate with scanner" link. You will see several things to try to correct your problem. Usually, this error shows up if there is another USB device connected which prevents the computer from "seeing" the scanner, even though it can print without problem. So do try to disconnect any other USB device (except mouse or keyboard) and reboot the system.

No Show!

Two things you can easily check:

Ensure the issue is not caused by Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) EMI can cause similar image quality issues. Verify that the scanner is not in the direct vicinity of the computer monitor and/or speakers. If so, relocate the scanner at least three feet away from the monitor and/or speakers and retry the scan.

Also, try this as well:
Re-home the scanning carriage The scanning carriage in the scanner may have lost the home position and needs to be reset.
  1. Shut the computer system off and then disconnect the scanner from the power source. Leave the scanner disconnected from the power source for at least one full minute.
  2. Reconnect the power and then restart the computer system.
  3. When the computer system has fully restarted, try scanning again.
Oh.. and you ARE using the power supply that came w/ the scanner aren't you?? If not, you NEED to.

Flatbed scanner

i dont believe this is made by epson.
however, the drivers for an old unit is usually not transferred over. The cost to make drivers for an old machine is very expensive for a small group of people.
I recommend you get a new one, the costs are minimal and you will get much nicer features.

Preview OK but scan button not available...importing from PS CS2

Very verbose and you have lots of experience - just like me except I can give you 25 years- But to get on. You did not say what operating system you are working. Or the age of the Scanner It is important. Scanners made during the 95/8/ME era were set up for DOS commands from the computer. Now we are in the NT age The computer sends out NTFS commands and scanner cant figure it out. Some scanners were dual system. And you could fool around with the program compatibility facility. But by and large old scanners should be buried.
