DEQ 9200 does nothing but blink

I have installed the deq 9200 and followed the instructions but the only thing it will do is blink like the power goes on and off. I have checked the connections and cleaned the contacts and still nothing..where did I go wrong.

1999 mustang gt alpine head unit, deq9200, 2 punch 500's and 1 punch 50. only thing used from factory was power wire and remote wire.

Check DEQ "back up" battery wire (orange color), use multi meter to measure the voltage. If voltage are unstable then you must re-wiring the back up battery wire, link and loop it to your alpine player back up wire (yellow color). If it still same problem happening, then sent your "DEQ-9200 hide-away unit" to nearest Pioneer ASD. Change itside P.C.B. back up power battery (black color, 5.5volt -beside system control IC) and clean up the battery leaking part.

Do you have the yellow wire going to a constant 12v power source? The yellow wire controls the memory of the radio and needs to have 12v going to it at all times, even when the key is taken out of the ignition.

Check the capacitors near the leak source if they vent ie swell on top then it is possible they have split causing fluid leakage they will not be far from leak on pcb replace the ones that look swelled

My pioneer deq-9200 equilizer keeps resetting to default settings whenever i start my engine. What's going on here?

The EQ has two power wires on the back like a head unit. One is constant power, and the other one is ignition/switched power. This normally happens when the installer takes the switched power and applies it to both power leads going into the EQ or head unit. The EQ needs the constant power line run to a 12V source that never turns off. The constant power line is normally yellow, and the switched power line is normally red.
