Some jets are clogged

Spa works good but serveral jets are not working and one jet isat half flow, how do i remove the plactic inserts and un clog the jets??

The outer ring on the out side will unscrew, just be gentle and you may have to use a large pair of channel locks, plyers, but don't grip the plastic to hard so you don't scar the plastic

No it is not an idle adjustment. You need to remove the carb, and remove both jets ( pilot jet and main jet). Ream the jets with thin wire or compressed air. Hold the jets up to the light and make sure you can see thru them. I believe you will find your pilot jet to be clogged.

Lindsey... your problem is the classic issue with plugged jets. Specifically the low speed speed (pilot) jets are clogged. With the carb removed and the float bowl removed, and the float also removed, you'll see generally two sets of jets. Usually the one in the center is the main jet and has a larger hole and that jet doesn't usually clog but to be sure remove it and inspect the opening. If you can't see light then it's clogged. The more suspect issue is the pilot (low speed jet), usually off to the side. This jet, once removed has a longer body and this is the jet that is clogged. Perform the same "look thru" and you'll see no light or very little. When this jet clogs it displays the symptoms you mention. As you give the bike throttle, transition from idle thru low speed and then to main jet occurs, based on rpm and throttle demand. The pilot jet doesn't allow transition and the bike falters from about 2000 to 5/6 k rpm.

So how to clean. I've tried acetylene torch tip cleaners but most are too big. If you have an air compressor, try blowing high pressure air thru the jet and it may clear. The ultimate fall back is a chemical clean. Place the jet in a ultrasonic tank or purchase Berryman's carb cleaner in a small tank (1 gallon) (Auto Zone or internet)http://www.amazon.com/Berryman-0996-Chem-Dip-Carburetor-Cleaner/dp/B00DSMEL2A/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1419804749&sr=1-1&keywords=berrymans+carb+cleaner
and soak the jets in it. Here's another potential problem... the pilot hole in the body of the carb may also be plugged so while at it disassemble the soft parts from the carb and treat the carb body (no soft parts) also in the carb cleaner. Usually about 1 - 2 hrs soak removes the clog. Best to clean all holes in the carb body with high-pressure air. Since you have a four cylinder then you must perform the same exercise 4x. This will solve your problem...

The water jets in most spas are adjustable so you can turn the water flow down to just a trickle if you want to.
You don't take current spa jets out of the spa. They are held in place by a couple of tabs. Through the years the chlorine/bromine will deteriorate those tabs and the spa jets will start "popping" out when the jets get turned on.
If you pull the jet insert out the socket they are in, you will ruin the jet insert and it will need to be replaced.

Hi sir was just reading your answers on another question , and though you would be the one to answer mine if you have the time. most of my jets work fine except two sets of neck jets and one middle back...


Water seeks the path of least resistance, so a little clog can divert the flow. A pinch in the line, a control valve slightly closed, or another jet getting the lions share because it's valve is wide open or a restrictor has fallen out.
If there are any filters, check them. Make sure the intake is clear, no obstructions.

6 of the 8 jets work. 1 of the jets seems to pull water and the other doesn't do anything. What is the problem and how do I fix it?


There is actually a removable jet about a foot back up behind the inlet. It has become clogged. You have to remove the "eyeball" and get back in there to remove it. They come in a couple different varieties , one uses a 13/16" socket (try that first as the others are specialty tools), another uses a tool with two pins sticking straight out, and some other odd ones. Its usually a pretty quick fix.

Jets not working on one side of our spa


The access to the motor will never be at the top but on the side of the spa however it sounds like the air flow is not evenly being distributed if the working jets seem to have excessive flow this could cause the problem you are explaining here to remedy this go to the working jets and close them to half air flow see what happens once they are closed half way move to the ones that are not working and turn them to the half position. You must remember it takes a window of about 3 to 10 seconds to notice a change it is not instantaneous so give it a few seconds before messing with them again. If this fails to work the spa may have been ran with no filter and may have an obstruction that is preventing the air flow

I have installed a brand new 4 hp pump and a brand new Balboa heat and control package. I have wet vacuumed all the jets and removed filter. Pump is still weak and kicks off after awhile. How do I...


most of the jets in a Hot Tub are adjustable. the face of each jet can turn on/off. Make sure they are all open or you will not have good water flow and cause too much back pressure on the pump and cause it to fail.
check the jet faces when you turn the pump on.
also a dirty filter will cause low water flow so check that too. take it out and see what pressure you get through the jets.

Why does 2002 honda xr50 run better with choke at half way instead of off


The jets are a little clogged or gummed up. Clean the carburetor jets and it will run better with the choke off. What happens is with the choke off, there is too much air and not enough fuel in the air fuel mixture because not enough fuel is passing through the jets but the same amount of air is always allowed. With the choke on, you are restricting the amount of air flow which helps to correct the fuel/air mixture into the engine. To clean the jets, you will remove the float bowl from the bottom of the carburetor, there will be at least two jets (sometimes up to four) in the bottom of the carb, remove both jets and use carb cleaner and compressed air to clean them. DO NOT USE any type of tool because it can scar the jet passage and change the fuel flow as well. Also be sure to use the proper screw driver to remove the jets since if you damage them it can also change the fuel flow. Also, when removing the jets, be aware of any washers or spacers that may be in place when removing. Good luck

I have a artic spa 2003 ,and is flashes a flo coded ,what could i do to fix this problem,im so fustraded with this thing.pumps work ,jets come on but no heat .


A "FLO (w)" indicator means that there is insufficient water flow to trip the pressure switch and allow the heater to come on. Trouble Shooting: Remove the filters and run the spa. If the indicator goes away the filters are clogged, bad. Locate the pressure switch normally threaded into the heater tube. There should be two wires attached. Remove the wires and connect them together to complete the circuit. If the indicator goes away the pressure switch is bad or requires adjustment. Replace / adjust the switch and reconnect the wires. Do not run the spa permanently without it.
