Question about LG DLE5977 Electric Dryer
Look closely at the seam of the dryer drum, at the very front and the very back. I suspect that the seam has developed a crack, and makes a thumping noise each time the crack passes over the drum support rollers. You will have to replace the drum to eliminate the problem

SOURCE: Thumping drum noise
You are reminded, this is a SELF HELP web site. You are supposed to encourage people with you knowledge of how to repair appliances. Not to discourage them and tell them to call a repairman. The whole point of this forum is to AVOID a service call and NOT to promote your repair service. Give you a good rating for what? Stop begging for ratings and start actually helping!

Take off the back panel of the dryer and look at the motor and belt turning the drum. There may be something caught on the drum and is pinned in place causing the noise. The motor could be loose on the platform and needs to be tightened. It is probably something physical and seen causing the noise.

Some things to check.
Worn rear drum rollers, idler pulley, or drum front slide kit.

Hope this helps.

Prob. some failure of a bracket or loose inside...
Have a local tecnician check it out.
i think that ll be best cause i can't imagine that will be an easy fix.
I hope this is useful, and greets,

The drum rides on a pair of plastic glides in the front. They get thin and their bracket begins to rub the drum.
The rollers tend to get a little noisy in time. I use HVAC oil (zoom-oil from ace hardware) to lube them because it is temp resistant, won't disapate, and is non flammable.
