Checked both the old and new sensor with an ohm meter. Both appear to be working. Both are at 10.5k ohms at room temp and fluctuate when under warm or cold water.

Both old and new temperature sensors appear to be working normally (last post). Any other ideas please.

SNS is steady and not blinking (pool mode). Don't see anything in the pdf about balancing the temp. sensor. Cleaned all the sensors contacts and PCB board contacts. Still the same problem "SNS".

Just changing a good component with another don't help. Might be possible your earlier sensor was fine but disbalanced. You are advised to shut it down for few minutes remove the sensor and realign it as per the pdf manual link provided below.
Your error code on display means "Sensors out of balance. If alternating with temp, may be temporary condition. If display shows only this message (blinking) spa is shut down".

Save it for your future use also.

Hi,

I understand that you have replaced the temperature sensor but since you are still getting the SNS I would request you to check the sensor once again as the meaning of the SNS is:

1) SENSOR IS FAULTY
2) TEMPERATURE IS ABOVE 110°F
3) TEMPERATURE IS BELOW 36°F

There os no further troubleshooting.

Thanks for contacting Fixya.

Getting a sns code on control panel display. Where is the sensor located on this pool heater?

In the header... Plumbing side
And wire plugs onto heat / control assembly board.
SNS indicates that the Temperature Sensor is out of range! There are two thermistors within that sensor, and if there is a difference of 2 degrees, the board will throw a Fault Code: SNS
check for good connection at board, and ensure the sensor is all the way seated properly in its well.
otherwise, it may be bad.

I get sns on my heater

SNS on Raypak heaters means the following:

1. Water temp is below 36 degrees F, or above 110 degrees F.

2. The sensor contains 2 thermistors. If they are more than 2 degrees aparts, an SNS failure will occur. Replace sensor.

3. Loose or corroded connection at P1 on the main CPU board (right behind the LCD screen)

4. If the sensor is not mounted ALL THE WAY into the JACO fitting (on top of the header) it will give a false reading.

It is more likely than not, that you need to replace the temperature sensor. Part number 009577F.
