Need manual for kenmore top load washer model 82891120. washer will agitate but not spin pump works to drain water.

the drive coupling or clutch is bad ! the coupling is between motor and the transmission. on a lot of washers its rubber or hard plastic to keep from ruining appliance if it breaks.this is why washer will not spin.

Washing machine won't spin.

a few things it could be... the lid switch may have failed and needs replaced.... not knowing the model if this is a top load unit it may be direct drive and have a coupling under unit between transmission and motor called a drive coupling this could be broke....
it is a plastic piece works somewhat like a shear pin.... if you are hearing noises but not spinning try this first... and then the worst case the transmission has failed .... good luck to you post with more questions if you need with a model number and a little more description someone will be glad to help you.....good luck

Wash tub will not spin/agitate. could not locate a band

Set the machine for final SPIN and turn it on.
If it pumps out the water you must replace the direct drive coupling between the motor and transmission.
If it does not pump out the water you must replace the lid switch under the rear control console.
This video will show how to access those parts.

When its on the final spin and completed clothes are still wet

The pump is mounted on the motor so the water is removed and that means the lid switch is working. I think you might have a broken drive coupling. Almost certainly it could be the coupling. This is a common failure of these machines. It can be triggered by washing a heavy load. themobilian_1495.jpgthemobilian_1496.jpgthemobilian_1497.jpgthemobilian_1498.jpgthemobilian_22.pngthemobilian_1499.jpg
That is the simple answer and should fix the problem but what IF the coupling is ok?
Then you gotta dig deeper into this machine. Let me know.

No turnning and spinning

If the machine will not pump out water when set to SPIN,replace the lid switch.
If it does pump out water replace the direct drive coupling.

This video will show how to correct the problem.

Tub does not spin. water pump works but no spin

  1. does the machine agitate? if no replace drive coupling between motor and transmission. If yes you have either a bad clutch or transmission.
  2. Remove cabinet and jump out lid switch to run with cabinet off.Put the machine in spin, look where the shaft goes up thru center of tub.Is the clutch drum turning?IF yes replace clutch. If not replace transmission.
  3. My guess bad coupling ,cost $20.
  4. Hope this helps .........Please rate my solution :)

Will not pump out the water

You have a bad lid switch. Open the control console. Remove the lid switch wire. Make a jumper wire from a insulated piece of wire. Insert it into the lid switch harness connected to the machine(not the cabinet). Turn the dial to spin. If it spins replace the lid switch.
If it makes motor noises and does not spin, replace the direct drive coupling on the motor.

Spins slow or not at all, in the spin cycle.

Remove the water pump and check for a blockage in the pump.
If no pump problem replace the brake and the drive coupling.

Frigidaire washer model FWX833AS1 top load

Hello Lcl2610.
welcome to Fixya,
My name is Huuum,

How old is your machine?
I have found some reasons of what may be the matter!
List of thinks to check
1.Defective Lid Switch
Check lid switch for proper operation. Check the switch for continuity. If it is found to be open, replace the switch assembly.

2.Faulty Direct Drive Coupling
The Direct Drive (motor) Coupling may be broken. Many Whirlpool/Kenmore brands washing machines utilize a small, relatively inexpensive direct drive motor coupling. It's plastic and rubber and is mounted to the shaft of the motor on one side, and to the transmission on the other.

It can wear out over time or fail under overloading conditions. This protects your transmission from excessive loading.

3. Faulty Water Level Switch
If the water level switch is not resetting once the water is drain, power will not be available to operate the motor during spin. Check the water level switch for proper operation.

4.Will not drain and displays F/02
The error code F/02 will be displayed if the drain time exceeds 8 minutes. Press pause/cancel twice to remove display. Check the pump filter and wiring connections on the pump. If all looks good, replace the pump.

You may want to use a pro, rather than attempt this project your self.

Let me know how it goes!

Thank you Huuum.
