Re: making a dvd with footage on camcorder

Canon doesnt appear to have a Vista driver for video transfer.
The TWAIN and WIA drivers are for XP.

I have transferred videos from my Canon MV830i video camera onto my pc before with a firewire cable, but now have a laptop and am not sure what I need to transfer the data onto the laptop, as it does not...

Greetings - The simplest (and fairly inexpensive) thing you can do is to get a Cardbus/PCMCIA FireWire card like these shown HERE.

You would use the same software you used on your desktop to do the capture.

Good Luck,

How do i transfer my videos from my canon dc330 into my comuter

Hey! As far as I know, Canon DC330 camcorders records high-quality MPEG-2 footage directly to a mini DVD-R or DVD-RAM. So you can watch it with your DVD-RAM drive onyour PC, or you can convert the recorded dvds into videos and play it with players such as Windows Media Player.
I'd like to share you DVD Converter Software which can help you convert dvd to common video and convert between videos. Hope that helps.

Can i transfer video from a canon mv830i to my pc

to transfer video from your camcorder to your pc you will need a firewire cable (ieee 1394). only with this cable you will be able to transer video.
you will also need a firewire port on your pc.
if you don't have one then you can buy a firewire pci card.

see this for info and pictures

How does one transfer videos and stills onto cd/dvd and/or a pc?

I find the best way is with your own computer. Using a system like iMovie you can hook up your camera, import the footage and from there burn it onto a CD/DVD. Hope that helps.

you can access via USB only SD card on your camcoder.
The only way to transfer from the tape is via Firewire (IEE 1394) . You should have this port on your PC or laptop, if not you can buy external firewire card .
