Tg624X44Ds What size flip-up lens caps ?

There are markings on the lens and hood that tell you the size in mm of the lens opening.

Lens caps come in different sizes to fit different size lenses. Obviously, a big lens requires a larger cap than a small lens.

Look on the fron of the lens, it should say something like Auto Nikkor 24-50 f3.5/5.6 ( or similar) that is the mamximum aperture at different zoom levels. besides that it may say something like 37mm either on side of lens near front or on front itself. If you have the lens cap, look inside the lens cap, the size is usually marked there and your camera uses the same size screww on filters.

I don't know which wideangle lens you have, but there most likely is a number giving the the size of the thread in front of the lens. If there isn't, you can measure it with a ruler marked in millimeters. Either way, simply order a lens cap of that size online or buy it at a good camera store. If you can't find the size, simply take the lens with you to a camera store and find a lens cap that fits. You don't need to find a specific brand, about the only thing that matters is the size. Unless, that is, you care a whole lot about the styling...

They aren't too hard to open up and take apart. There's a glass piece the covers the actual lens and I'm guessing that is what broke. Once the flip is in pieces you can remove the glass piece and it will operate fine without it. If you want to replace it, you can either get a broken flip and use it for parts, but there's a pretty sticky, tough ring of tape holding that glass piece in place. You could also try a very clear piece of plexiglass and cut it to size. Haven't tried that one myself, but it may work.

You do not define "cap cover" as to whether it is a 'lens cap' of which the Objective Lens comes in varying sizes with the 3x9 scope depending on the model.
However, you should be able to find one in the size you need at most any Firearms supply store. I have even found a lens cap for a Leupold at a Walmart.

I've got one of these (the IS-DV2+ version) and what I use for a lens cap is actually a bottle cap from bottled water. It snaps right on and doesn't come off unless I take it off. :) You could try that. You'll have to experiment to find the right size bottle cap.

As far as I know there's no lens cap available for this camera from Aiptek--they started including lens caps with some more recent models, but apparently didn't feel it was necessary with many of their cameras.

I would sugest using an adaptor ring. You can reduce the size of your lens opening down a common size lens cap that will fit your camera. If you can't go this route then give me the make and model number and I will see what I can do for you. LJ
