Question about Logitech Cordless Mini Optical Mouse - Mouse - optical - 3 button - wireless - RF - USB wireless ...

No Connection. So I plugged in the USB thing into the port and it's not connecting or something. The mouse light underneath is on and I pressed reset a couple of times and I have changed the batteris. I have Windows Vista and an Acer Laptop. Help!

Most Logitech mice need to have the software loaded and then there is a setup/connect option. You click connect in the software and then puch to connect button on the mouse. Other Logitech mice just have connect buttons on the mouse and receiver. On these push the button on the receiver and then push the button on the mouse.

Hi there,
The first thing to determine is whether or not you are getting a connection. Check to see if there is power on the device that is plugged into your computer. (The device which plugs in via USB). If you are not getting power to that, try a different USB port. If you are getting power to that device, follow Step 2:
The next thing to try is to look underneath the mouse. If you see a red light, it means the batteries are fine. If you don't see a red light replace the batteries. If that doesn't work, follow Step 3:
The next thing to check are the drivers on your computer. You will probably need a wired mouse to do this though. Unplug the wireless mouse, then plug in a wired one. Since I'm not sure on the model of your mouse, go to HP's website and click into the Drivers and Downloads section. Locate your mouse model number underneath the mouse or wireless transmitter, then search for the drivers. Once you have located the drivers, download them to your Desktop, but don't install them. Once they are downloaded, unplug the wired mouse from your computer, then plug in the wireless mouse and proceed to Step 4:

Before you install the drivers, go Start > Control Panel > Device Manager > Mice and Other Pointing Devices, then uninstall each mouse driver listed in here. You're doing this in case another mouse driver is conflicting with your current one. Reboot your computer. Once the computer is rebooted, go on to your Desktop and install that driver you downloaded from HP's website. Press the sync button on your wireless receiver (if there is a sync button), then try your mouse again.

There are 4 possible ways in my awareness...
Method 1: Resynchronize your device with the receiver To resynchronize the mouse or the keyboard with the receiver, follow these steps. Note When you synchronize the mouse or the keyboard with the receiver, put the device near the receiver and put any other wireless keyboards and mouse at least 6 feet away.
  1. Press the button on the receiver, and then verify that the light on the receiver starts to blink.

    Note Some newer Microsoft devices are permanently bound to their receiver and cannot be reset. If your device does not have a button, skip to Method 2.
  2. If a dialog box appears on the screen in several seconds, follow the instructions that appear on the screen. Otherwise, go to the next step.
  3. Press and release the Connect Channel button on the bottom of the mouse or the keyboard.
  4. Check the green light on the receiver. A steady green light means the synchronization was successful. If the problem persists, try steps 1 through 4 again.
  5. For the Wireless Notebook mouse: This issue can occur if the micro-switch on the bottom of the mouse is not released. Use a pin or a pen to try to release the button if it is depressed.

Will not connect..its not in sync with my pc

Turn the switch to the "On" position, located underneath your mouse if your mouse has a switch.

Restart your computer to have a fresh starting point for troubleshooting. Sometimes, just restarting your computer can resolve issues you have with your HP wireless mouse.

Move your HP mouse about 39 inches away from your receiver.

Unplug your USB receiver, if you have one, and wait about 10 seconds.

Replug the USB receiver into another USB port, closer to your mouse if possible, then resynchronize your mouse and receiver.

Press and hold the connect button on your receiver, while plugged in, until you see the LED light flash.

Hold and press the connect button underneath your mouse until the LED light on the receiver stops flashing.

Check to make certain the button under your mouse does not get stuck in the depressed position and releases. Also, make certain you complete this resynchronizing process in 60 seconds, or else you must start over. Your mouse will now have a new identification number from resyncing.

Unplug the USB receiver, wait 10 seconds, then replug the receiver firmly into the USB slot, pushing it in entirely. You will notice the receiver's activity light turn on, then off in the next five seconds.

Press the connect button underneath your mouse until you see the activity light turn on again on the USB receiver.

Check to make certain the mouse connect button does not remain depressed when you release it.

Most likely you need to re-sync the device

  1. Resynchronizing the keyboard and/or mouse causes the devices to reconnect to the receiver using new identification numbers. Use the following steps to resync the devices:
    NOTE: The following connection sequence must be completed within 60 seconds. If the sequence is not done in 60 seconds, start over.
    1. With the receiver plugged in, press and hold the Connect button on the receiver until the activity LED flashes.
      NOTE: Some HP computers have receivers built into the front of the computer; such as TouchSmart 700 Series PCs and Digital Entertainment Centers. Look for a small connect button built into the case. If you have a TouchSmart 500 or 800 Series PC, the receiver plugs into a USB port on the underside of the case and does not have a connect button - skip this step. Doing so may give the keyboard or mouse a new ID number in case the other keyboard or mouse was using the same number.
    3. Press the Connect button on the receiver again until the activity light flashes.
    4. Press and hold the recessed button on the underside of the mouse until the activity light on the receiver stops flashing. Make sure the connect button does not stick in the depressed position.
  2. If your mouse and keyboard have a USB receiver, unplug the USB receiver, wait 10 seconds, and then insert into another USB port - preferably into a USB port that is closer to the mouse and keyboard. For example, if the USB receiver was plugged into a USB port on the back of the computer, unplug it and plug it into a front USB port.

If you know the batteries are good, then turn the keyboard over and find the small reset/connect button and press it. This resets /connects the board to the receiver. If it still doesn work, press the button on the receiver and then the mouse. Hope this is of help to you. Bud

Microsoft wireless notebook optical mouse 3000 Doesnt seem to work?


Okay, a coworker had this problem and it was a fairly easy fix, first, plug the USB reciever into a direct USB port, then pess the connect button on the underside of the mouse, when the red light starts blinking let go and then press it and hold, and at the SAME TIME press and hold the connect button on the receiver until both the receiver light and the mouse light turn on steadily, and voila!

Mouse Issues


There is a light/button on the USB plug. After inserting the USB key press that button then immediately press the connect button on the bottom of your mouse.
