The door closed switches on this model are a problem. There are two switches activated by the plunger. They both need to be open when the door is open and both closed when the door is closed. Remove power before working on the switches. I had to add small spacers to adjust the switches position. The touch panel will not work right if the switches are acting up.

The dishwasher is displaying 5H in the time panel is there any way that could happen by pushing the wrong button and is there any way to make it go away

It would help to know the model number to determine the features of your dishwasher. The only guess I can make is that someone pushed the "delay" button and you are now set for a 5 hour delay for starting the dishwasher. Pressing the Delay button a few more times should bring it back to Zero delay.

I am getting a 5H in the panel where the time cycle usually is and when I hit start it won t start

I think your dishwasher is in delay start mode. Some dishwashers can be set to start at a later time say for instance while everyone is sleeping. See if your control panel has a button that says delay start. If YES--just keep pressing it until it clears. Some go as high as 12H which is a 12 hr delay.

How do I Cancel a wash cycle? I have no manual

The Reset button is the correct button to cancel the cycle, it takes up to a minute or so the drain. If the buttons are not responding, there could be a problem with the door closed switches.

I have an electrolux edw5505eps dishwasher. The control panel start button does not function, the delay button does noy cycle thru the delay time. Does the panel need to be replaced?

check out my thread on a similar issue. If your power button doesn't light and delay button does not light? Is the LCD screen display anything? check out my post several really good check lists.

Once the "start" is pressed, the "reset" option on the same button will not turn it off. This dishwasher is in a new place we're buying, and we're not ready to run a whole cycle to see if the machine works...

just un-plug it for now,....then of coarse when you can run it plug it back in for test,....ya never know, just un-plugging it could very well reset itself and work fine. this is the way with alot of the newer things,....good luck

Ge gld5800 water supply and power good, but water does not enter. Buttons for Normal Wash and Heated Dry flash on and off. Have disconnected power and reconnected to "reset" to no avail.

2 things to check, the water inlet solenoid valve which activates and allows the water to enter the machine and also check the door switch/lock mechanism, if the board doesn't think the door is closed properly it will not respond. hope this helps.

I am gettting a message on my dishwasher that says 1h

I think that the delayed use is engaged.  Wait an hour, and it will probably start up on its own.

Will not reset stays only on normal wash can't cancel a wash

This model has problems with the two door closed switches. If they are not both working right, then the buttons on the panel will not work right either.
