Hitachi projection problem: No Green in My Screen

Was in the middle of a football game when the the screen got a lot darker and the field turned brown. Surfing through the channels I'm finding that I can't pick up the color green at all. Green apears as black. Everything else apears fine... What can I do? Is this a sign of things to come?

Side shadows on picture

it sounds as if there are speakers to close to the tv or the built in speakers are not magnetically sheilded properly (maufacturer defect) if u have or have ever had speakers on the left and right side of your tv then the magnets in them will discolor and distort the screen. sometimes even long after the speakers have been moved away from the tv it will still look that way. you may try going to the library( or online )and looking in tv repair books on how to build a homade degauser unless your tv has that feature built into it in the menu somewhere like some computer monitors do. I had placed the front speaker of a 5.1 surround sound system on top my tv and it cuased that same problem, but i found out that by placing a small round magnet with a hole in the center on top of the tv (after removing the speaker for good) right where the discoloration was.. had to flip it one side or the other to get proper immediatly took away most of the discoloration and over time it disappeared. I hope this helps. Please email me at as to your conclusion in case it will help others. thanks, Adam
